DC's Gay Character Revealed?

Recently, it had been leaked that DC Comics would be changing the sexuality of one of their oldest characters. The internet was abuzz on speculations on which of the spandex-clad would come out of the closet. It's allegedly been leaked that the character in question is......
The Original Green Lantern: Alan Scott

According to Bleeding Cool:
"In the DC New 52 books, Alan Scott was reintroduced this month in Earth Two #1, as a young man, and head of GBC Productions.
If my assumptions are correct, we will learn of Alan Scott’s sexual orientation and his role as a Green Lantern of Earth Two in Earth Two #2, out next month."
The story was updated a few days later:
"A few days ago, I ran semi-sourced stories indicating that the character who DC Comics announced as being reintroduced to the New 52 DC Universe as a gay man, was Alan Scott, the original Green Lantern, who appeared in Earth 2 #1 briefly,
Well, at Phoenix Comic Con, I had a much stronger source confirm to me that, yes, it is indeed Alan Scott. On that basis I feel confident in calling it. Keep your Earth 2 #1 in good nick, and start queuing up for Earth 2 #2… right about now.
Of course the original Alan Scott, created by Marty Nodell in 1940, got his Green Lantern powers mystically from a green flame. But the first person to make a “flaming” joke is out of here, okay?"
Do you think it's him?SOURCE 1

If this is true then I can just imagine the butthurt looks on people's faces who expected it to be someone like Robin, Nightwing, or even Jimmy Olsen. Oh well. We should be proud of DC's decision to take such a bold step.
bullcrap.
But i'm ok with Ryan Reynolds playing gay in Green lantern 2.

It would make for great headlines and with some proper photoshop could fool a lot of media.
Yeah...
after Darkest Night or something like that, I just gave up and stopped reading DC entirely.
like, I read the books that I like and never venture far outside them (generally, Red Robin, Teen Titans, and Flash)... then all of a sudden, there's a bunch of shit going on and I have no idea what and I feel like DC was saying to me "pay more money and buy more titles in order to enjoy reading these" to which I could only respond with "screw you."
This is a major super hero...this means something and it's not that tame.
lame i wanted a daddy bear alan scott
