Benedict Cumberbatch insists he's "barely the sexiest man in [his] flat", let alone the world.
The British actor was voted the world's hottest man in a newspaper poll recently, ahead of soccer hunk David Beckham and teen idols One Direction.
Despite the coveted title, Benedict remains coy about his newfound status.
"I don't know about being the sexiest man in the world. I am barely the sexiest man in my flat and I'm the only guy living there," he joked to British newspaper The Sun, the publication behind the poll.
"It makes me laugh because I see all the faults - I have spent 35 years of my life with myself. But I am very flattered. I don't know how else to take it but to be flattered and giggle."
Benedict attended the Baftas at London's Royal Festival Hall over the weekend. He was nominated for Best Actor for his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes but lost out to Dominic West, who was honoured for his role as serial murderer Fred West.
Benedict is glad he doesn't get cut-throat during awards seasons.
"It is enormously exciting to be here. It is a hot day and there is hot competition," he said. "Thankfully I am not a competitive person - you have to be a little bit for acting roles but you try to kid yourself they are not competition, otherwise it drives you mad."

Not to be debbie downer, but I am sort of waiting for something bad to happen. It's been a long long long time since i've seen someone that excited to be an actor, and enjoying the ride. been even longer since I've seen someone that open and happy with their fandom.
And there are the crazies. Serious crazies. I can't imagine getting pissed a celeb gets married. Or dates. but i am waiting for the creeper than crosses the line and makes him more guarded and less accessible. yeah I know DD.
But yeah one day he'll discover ONTD if he hasn't already.
I've always wanted to ask a bunch of famous peeps if they get spammed nudes and so on over Twitter. cause there are the crazies and there are those who have no filter and there are those who'd do it for the lulz.

It's Skeevy to me from anyone, but there is a part of me that I guess doesn't expect more from Eli Roth. Never did even before it happened. And I was around the weekend it happened, and I think both sides got a bit much, but honestly if you weren't in the first post, before it started to hit the drama comms, you had no idea just how far shit was going. At first it was people tweeting him and him back, and he'd mention them specifically, and shit was fairly, innocent before it got to that level. Wasn't here for it then, so not here for it now. I'd moved on to other posts so didn't know how bad it got until shit hit the fan. No pun intended. And it's so not that I excuse what he did, or those who spammed him, it's that I never saw a high road for him. If that makes sense?
But yeah if Hiddles did that, pretty much a sex scandal. Idk if there is such a thing as a career ender anymore. Sadly. It would kill my enjoyment of him though. Loki'd doesn't cover that. lol
I think even the tabloids and other mags looked at Eli and went, yeah, not surprised, what else is going on?
It would legit surprise me if Hiddleston--or Cumberbatch, for that matter--ever got involved in that sort of skeevy, raunchy bullshit. And it's not like I respected Eli Roth to begin with. lol
Isn't it a sad state affairs that the whole exchange did absolutely nothing to Eli Roth's career? Not that I'm for making private matters personal or having people judged on their sex lives if it doesn't break the law--I was totally against Clinton's impeachment, lol--but I say it's a sad state affairs because you know if it had been an ACTRESS doing the same shit that Eli Roth did, she would've been skewered by fucking everyone.
But no, a man can get away with it.

But yes, Hiddleston...he definitely has the potential. He's got an old Hollywood soul and I expect him to do great things with his talent. And I expect Cumberbatch to get an Oscar before I die, too. As much as he irritates me sometimes, the man is supremely talented.
