Kim Kardashian says the British Airways employees who ransacked her luggage have stolen something that money cannot replace -- sunglasses that have a profound meaning.
When Kim arrived home from France Friday night, she noticed her luggage was significantly lighter than when she left. A search inside the suitcase quickly revealed the thieves made off with a pair of vintage sunglasses her dad, Robert Kardashian, gave her just before he died -- sunglasses she only wore on very special occasions.
And there's even more thievery. Kim is telling friends the baggage bandits made off with several extremely expensive purses and Tumi luggage.
Kim tweeted after the incident, writing, ""Very disappointed in British Airways for opening my luggage & taking some special items of mine! Some things are sentimental & not replaceable."
We're told Kim has already filed a report with the airline, demanding they produce surveillance catching the culprits in the act.
If the airline doesn't fork over the footage, we're told Kim's going to the cops.

Her father gave them to her before he died
if someone stole something i loved from a passed away relative i would be really upset too
I travel all the time and I've never had anything else happen. I'm assuming that, going by the amount of luggage that's handled, it's probably rare in general.
with brazilians travelling to miami/buenos aires to buy so much stuff lately its grown to be a common problem. they even arrested people.

I just don't understand why she packed it in her luggage. I thought it was pretty well known and understood that anything that's extremely valuable, you carry on. People steal, things get broken, whole pieces of luggage get lost, things fall out.
I've only ever had one thing stolen and nothing ever damaged and I travel quite frequently, but I'll never travel with anything expensive or valuable in my checked bag just because you ever know what can happen.
I bought some Burberry shoes in Berlin. When I flew back home, I wore the shoes on the plane, and put the box in my luggage and filled it with the chocolate I was bringing home. I could stand to those the chocolate, but not the shoes.
my parents are always more concerned with hotel staff taking shit then airline employees lol.

Most Americans I know do not lock their suitcases anymore (not that most luggage locks are super sturdy anyway). The TSA is allowed to break open any lock in order to check your luggage. You can get "TSA approved" locks that they have keys to, but the last time I used them the TSA just kept my locks. I haven't locked my suitcase in years. I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't lock them just because that's what a lot of Americans have gotten used to.
