Haven't read any of the books but I am curious about the forever tagline for Jacob.  Does he become a vampire too?

They never age as long as they always shift, if they stop shifting they age. So he's going to keep himself ~of age~ to match Nessie.

It may be bc the books get worse as they go along. I told my friend who never read any of them what the 4th was about and she was cracking up - it goes from being like...could be reality with vampires - to babies that talk to you with their touch and Bella can create force fields and then there is this big battle and its just dumb.

I'm really puzzled as to why they chose to release this right in the middle of Rob and Kristen premiering other movies at Cannes? Just strange timing. They look nice at least. Really hoping the final poster is not a trio thing again although the movie where Edward and Bella went on their honeymoon had a trio thing so I guess that's too much to ask.

This isn't about Twilight though. They could have saved it for next week and not insert it here. I feel swamped by so many various news. Twilight stuff gets a lot of press though so I guess it's good for everyone in terms of more news stories and I do want the final Twilight to do well.

I think, but I can't really remember, he lives longer (but not FOREVER) because he's a werewolf and because Renesme (sp?) lives for a long time, so he lives longer because he's in love with someone who lives a long life, although I don't think Renesme is going to live forever. At least, I think that's how someone once explained it to me, but I'm not sure. I was kind of half listening.

Renesmee grows really fast but she stops at like ~17 LOL, and is immortal from then on. Jacob will continue phasing for the rest of eternity while they others all stop and go on to be immortal/ no longer a werewolf.

As long as vampires are around the wolves will continue to shift. It's how Smeyer got around her bullshit. Bella therefore gets everything she was meant to give up choosing this life. She got to keep her parents, she got to have a baby, and she gets to keep Jake around forever.
