Set in the early 1920s, The Great Gatsby follows Nick Carraway, a young writer who becomes attached to a man of great wealth and means, living the great life in the post-World War I era. But once Nick gets sucked into the world he discovers the secrets, lies and troubles that have been used to build success. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Joel Edgerton, Carey Mulligan, Isla Fisher, Jason Clarke, Elizabeth Debicki, and Amitabh Bachchan and will be in theaters this Christmas.

i'm excited for this, i love leo and tobey. i need to go re-read the book, i haven't read it since i half-assed it in sophomore year of high school.

lol same here. I read it like five years ago and remember liking it but I'm sure I speed-read through it because I don't remember a lot of the plot points.

I studied for my English Lit A Level and I loved it, I read it so many times I can't wait to see what Baz does with it.

I half-assed it the same year and felt so bad for Gatsby in regards to Daisy and then sometime in the last 5 years I read the whole thing and realized I totally missed the whole point that he was living in a fantasy world about who she was and what they could be. There was no love story. And he wasn't that great a guy, either. So then I pretty much felt nothing.

But give it up for T.J. Eckleberg, every English teacher's favorite metaphor
