She's hanging around her house, who curr.

Plus when you grow up in a warm climate like she did, you're used to spending your childhood mostly barefoot, tbh. /native of the South

Well I'm not going around splashing around in standing water or anything but as long as you watch where you're going...

All I can say is, I've never had any kind of infection and I spent years barefoot as a kid outside while my bff got a fungal infection from a local mani/pedi shop. Just gotta be careful. She's in a dry climate so that helps.

I think it's nasty as hell. Fecal matter crawling all over the bottom of your feet.

I think it depends on if you grew up in a rural or urban area. I grew up in suburbia, but the same area was quite rural when my dad was growing up and I took my cues from him as far as footwear went. If I'm not at work or going some where out in public, I ain't wearing shoes.

when I was a kid I could spend hours outside barefoot though never in public, even when it was August and I live in Texas. The bottoms of my feet must have been pretty thick and calloused (gross) because as an adult with nice constantly clean feet, I cant get to the mailbox in May without bitching about how hot and painful the driveway is.
muzicnem 7th-May-2012 01:27 am (UTC)
Yeah my feet are definitely more tender than they used to be since I don't go playing around the yard/driveway anymore. I'm the same way about complaining when going to the mailbox lol.

The sidewalk burns! I live in TX too and it hurts to walk outside without shoes on now.
bob80 7th-May-2012 02:46 am (UTC)
Yeah. Us people in the South run out the front door without shoes quite often in warm weather.
barilace 7th-May-2012 04:06 am (UTC)
Lol. I won't even front and say when I'm walking around my house...I am usually barefoot. *lives in Louisiana*

I grew up in the South and my parents always got on my case when I did - they were afraid I was going to get lime disease or something.
