Now that I'm sober and don't think Jenny McCarthy is starring in this anymore, this looks so good! I hope Jesse doesn't fuck it up.

i saw a preview for this when i went to see cabin in the woods and now i really want to see it.
katiexxpie 3rd-May-2012 12:38 am (UTC)
I thought ppl still couldn't go back to Chernobyl tho
fight4thislove 3rd-May-2012 12:40 am (UTC)
they can't go into the reactor site, but you can go into the surrounding areas. they have tourist trips to Priypat and to another one of the reactor sites regularly.
hannahstarr 3rd-May-2012 02:50 pm (UTC)
yeah, the reactor site is still too radioactive but you can visit the town and stuff. I had a friend who did that
chuk_is_dazzled 3rd-May-2012 12:41 am (UTC)
i want to see this, idk why though since ill be freaked out for days, but i dont know anyone who wants to watch a scary movie in theaters and im not watching this by myself

even cabin in the woods left me a little freaked out
fight4thislove 3rd-May-2012 12:49 am (UTC)
i'm going to end up seeing this by myself sadly, none of my friends can tolerate horror movies in theatre's. they have to have home viewings where they know they're safe.

whysoseriousbb 3rd-May-2012 12:50 am (UTC)
i hope this is gonna be good, i feel like i haven't been scared by a good horror movie in years
merylkixazz 3rd-May-2012 01:00 am (UTC)
I wonder how many people don't know Chernobyl is real, like those people who didn't know about the Titanic.
dirtychickentoy 3rd-May-2012 04:34 am (UTC)
These people exist?
insaynejayne 3rd-May-2012 03:15 pm (UTC)
my sis-in-law asked me wtf Chernobyl was and why it was ~haunted~ after she saw the trailer online
_cheshire 3rd-May-2012 04:07 pm (UTC)
I've been talking about this movie to my sister and some old friends lately and none of them knew about Chernobyl.

It's sad the number of times I've had to explain it in the past week.
animalyears 3rd-May-2012 01:03 am (UTC)
i just think it's disgusting people are profiting off this disaster.
vainjain 3rd-May-2012 01:15 am (UTC)
I kind of agree with you but I'm not surprised that this movie has been made.
esoteriq 3rd-May-2012 01:16 am (UTC)
What about all the other disasters in human history
animalyears 3rd-May-2012 01:17 am (UTC)
they should not be profited from imo. it's disrespectful to the people who have suffered by turning it into cheap entertainment
lillylilacs 3rd-May-2012 01:27 am (UTC)
MTE

I was so angry when I saw this preview during Cabin in the Woods. Not to mention from the preview it makes it seem like the victims of Chernobyl are the demons/ghosts/whatever.

Know what would be a scary movie? what really happened at Chernobyl.

winter_soldier 3rd-May-2012 01:39 am (UTC)
ia. maybe i'd feel better if the money made from the film went to charities that would help the victims, but that's unlikely. :/
kaiserschmarrn 3rd-May-2012 08:05 am (UTC)
mfte
fuckyess 3rd-May-2012 09:41 am (UTC)
this is one of hundreds, if not thousands, of movies that is doing that
insaynejayne 3rd-May-2012 03:17 pm (UTC)
i rolled my eyes when i saw the trailer- ngl tho i was surprised it took this long.
crackitycrackho 3rd-May-2012 01:28 am (UTC)
Ooh, this looks interesting! I'm always fascinated by anything related to the Chernobyl disaster. So sad.
teamdowney 3rd-May-2012 01:38 am (UTC)
I want to see this!
redleigh86 3rd-May-2012 01:41 am (UTC)
This reminds me of that STALKER game. I actually thought the movie was supposed to be an adaptation during the first few seconds of the trailer. Anyway, it really is the perfect setting for a horror film. I'll be watching!
fight4thislove 3rd-May-2012 01:48 am (UTC)
lol that was my first thought in the theatre then my second thought was "UM CAN BLOODSUCKER MAKE A CAMEO!?"

lol one can wish
winegums 3rd-May-2012 02:04 am (UTC)
This seems interesting tbh. I can't get the video to load but the early trailers looked really good.
parisdiorchanel 3rd-May-2012 02:26 am (UTC)
I want to see this sfm, but I hate horror movies. Plus I think the people living their will be disfigured because of radiation so it will be like The Hills Have Eyes. DNW.
parisdiorchanel 3rd-May-2012 02:27 am (UTC)
omg can you really visit there tho?
sparkfactory 3rd-May-2012 02:34 am (UTC)
yeah not like the ground zero area but the surrounding areas have regular tours, and you can't even be there for very long without putting yourself at risk. if you look on google lots of people write about it and post their pics after. it's really eerie
