Plan B Says Parents Should Try Drugs

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Plan B believes parents should experiment with some drugs so they can educate their children about the dangers and effects.

Plan B advises parents to try drugs in order to teach their kids about them.

The singer-and-rapper - who has previously admitted to once smoking heroin but not enjoying it - thinks the best way to educate children about the dangers of drug use is to talk about it from an experienced perspective.

He said: ''One way of educating yourself about drugs is doing them. It's true! You wanna learn about warn your kids off, smoke a spliff, experience it!

''It's unhealthy to reject all drugs. They're in our society, commonly used, you need to understand them to protect your kids from them.''

Plan B - real name Ben Drew - was exposed to drugs from an early age growing up in the rough Forest Gate area of East London, where he remembers drug addicted prostitutes who looked ''like diseased zombies'' who would ask his mother for money.

In an interview with Q magazine, the 'Ill Manors' rapper recalled: ''I'd go, 'Mum, what was wrong with that person?' and she'd go, 'That's a drug addict, that's why you should never do drugs.' So I had an understanding.''

too many feelings can't find the words

although i dislike when people have 2 first names like this dude.
noon 30th-Apr-2012 05:11 am (UTC)
haha i know someone whose first name and hyphenated last name are 3 very common surnames.
no_x_doubts 30th-Apr-2012 01:59 pm (UTC)
lmaoo a hyphen even worse
devourlove 30th-Apr-2012 05:25 am (UTC)
I've seen cute ones, like Mary Margaret from the one show, but I don't think I can with Ben Drew.
skyisempty 30th-Apr-2012 05:51 am (UTC)
My last name is Sam, having two first names sucks. I always get called Sam by Doctors.
everthere 30th-Apr-2012 01:50 pm (UTC)
Drew as a first name is not that common in Britain (not as much as in the US anyway)
missyyyyyy 30th-Apr-2012 02:35 pm (UTC)
I've heard that you're not suppose to trust people with 2 first names, ahh superstition.
piratesswoop 30th-Apr-2012 04:29 pm (UTC)

this is late but my father had once told me to never trust a guy who has 2 first names...and idk if that's a common saying but your comment made me smile HAHA.

i've known a few and they're usually douches, oop :S
tigermilk 30th-Apr-2012 05:10 am (UTC)
My kids will be at a disadvantage then. My father died and addict and not even a "think of the children!!" argument will work.
rocksaltme 30th-Apr-2012 05:34 am (UTC)
Hey, bb! I rarely see you around. <3 How are you?
tigermilk 30th-Apr-2012 01:42 pm (UTC)
RN? Not hot. I asked my parents for some financial help for the last 22 credits of my BA but my mom just accused me of trying to start a fight (?) But it's cool because I'm imagining that belt is my face. How are you, my sweetest love of all?
fwee_prower 30th-Apr-2012 05:10 am (UTC)
you don't think 70% of parents tried drugs when they were their kids age?

mine too. It's hilarious how my mother is so staunchly ati-pot but thought prohibition was ridiculous, and doesn't seebthe parallels, but how its even more ridiculous with pot because theres no end in sight and its been going on for decades.
shiningautumn 30th-Apr-2012 11:45 am (UTC)
this so much haha. the hardest drug my mom ever tried was weed (she hated it) and my dad has never even had a sip of alcohol.

the upside is that on the few occasions i dared to come home drunk/rolling/stoned, they believed me when i just claimed to be tired or w/e.
dedradawn 30th-Apr-2012 01:36 pm (UTC)
Same here. My mom accidentally drank a sip of beer the other night and confessed it to us all! The kitchen lights were off, she reached into the fridge and thought she had a soda.
abbie 30th-Apr-2012 07:23 am (UTC)
right? im going to willy wonka meme my little fucker once I find a joint in their room
numbedtoe 30th-Apr-2012 08:18 am (UTC)
yep. even my mom smoked pot in the 70's. I haven't. but she did.
janeeyre 30th-Apr-2012 09:53 am (UTC)
my parents were wild when they were young! If I went back in time, they wouldn't hang with me, because I'm a loser compared to the shit they did. lol
hotness3ya 30th-Apr-2012 11:04 am (UTC)
IKR not sure if my parents did drugs, but they sure drank alcohol and smoked a lot. My dad was part of a fraternity so it wouldn't surprise me if they did drugs back in the day. It kind of makes sense why they're so strict about it.
invisible_cunt 30th-Apr-2012 02:26 pm (UTC)
my dad maybe, but definitely not my mom
she's a buzzkill
celica18l 30th-Apr-2012 04:58 pm (UTC)
my in laws didn't and my husband has never tried drugs. i tried pot twice as a teenager but never really liked it.
noneformethanx 30th-Apr-2012 05:12 am (UTC)
I've gone 37 years without doing any kind of illegal drugs. Should I kill someone just so I can tell my kids it's ok to not do it?
captivatedlady 30th-Apr-2012 05:14 am (UTC)
yeah I think there's enough evidence in the 'drug addiction is a bad thing' pile that we are good
noneformethanx 30th-Apr-2012 05:16 am (UTC)
Lol I showed this to my teenage son and he was like "this guy doesn't make sense"
microminiscrew 30th-Apr-2012 07:16 am (UTC)
And yet, there are so many people that try stuff because 'that will never happen to me'.
nicolesnitchie 30th-Apr-2012 05:16 am (UTC)
yeah it's a rly good learning experience for the kids
jasmina12345 30th-Apr-2012 05:17 am (UTC)
lmao did you really just compare recreational drug experimentation to murder?

newsflash, teens are going to be exposed and/or try drugs and alcohol so it's better to atleast know what you're talking about with first hand experience. He's not saying that you HAVE to try drugs to teach your kids about the dangers, but it's an added perspective when you are trying to educate your children.

And I can tell you're one of those annoying people who think they deserve a cookie for not trying drugs ever. Good for you I guess. But to be judgmental on people who do is just ignorant on your part.

Not to mention that not all drugs are in the same level. Also you need to realize that just because it's illegal that doesn't mean it's bad. There are plenty of legal drugs that are bad for you as well see: prescription drugs

So long story short, have several seats.
andisprohi 30th-Apr-2012 06:25 am (UTC)
You have to shoot a man in Reno just to watch him die. Otherwise your kids will become mafia hit men or rest stop serial killers.
kapuki234 30th-Apr-2012 07:17 am (UTC)
idg this logic.
scheisse 30th-Apr-2012 07:26 am (UTC)
lol at all of these people, who most likely don't have kids, talking about what's good for children and what's not when you have kids.
akaich0u 30th-Apr-2012 02:24 pm (UTC)
Right? Maybe it's because my parents were so straight laced but my dad's brother had multiple addictions and therefore my sister and me = not having any of that. Like my parents didn't even need to tell us not to do drugs. It's like we just knew.
celica18l 30th-Apr-2012 05:01 pm (UTC)
awesome!

don't kill anyone though lol
captivatedlady 30th-Apr-2012 05:12 am (UTC)
That doesn't sound like a good plan to me. IDK
theactualworst 30th-Apr-2012 05:23 am (UTC)
Yeah, more like Plan F.
jasmina12345 30th-Apr-2012 05:13 am (UTC)
tbh it's good to have experience with something so you can give an added perspective when you're educating your children.

I see nothing wrong with what he said
jeveuxmacaron 30th-Apr-2012 05:19 am (UTC)
parents do not need to have the added perspective of being a desperate cocaine addict in order to adequately impress why their kid shouldn't be one

plus the consumption of these drugs doesn't just hurt you - unless it's marijuana that you've grown, it fuels wars in developing countries and aids in human trafficking. just stay away.
luna_incognita 30th-Apr-2012 06:33 am (UTC)
i agree but there are other situations where that line of logic might be useful. and in my experience, my parents who had NO DRUG EXPERIENCE ill prepared me for the reality of what drugs were all about whereas I learned a great deal more from other parents who were more open about the issue and happy to talk about it (not to encourage it but discuss it and their experiences). I'm not saying it's going to be the same situation for everyone but I'm more prone to listen to someone who has had experience in a situation and warns me away than someone who doesn't know anything and makes gross assumptions.

69love_songs 30th-Apr-2012 10:45 am (UTC)
Can i just ask why you're getting 'become a desperate cocaine addict' from 'smoke a spliff, experience it'? I've tried tons of recreational drugs, and all things considered, it really wasn't a very big deal. I get what plan b is saying tbh, i think the experience i had with drugs will make talking to my kids about drugs a lot easier than if i hadn't had those experiences. I kind of feel like your maybe the sort of person he's talking about; STOP WITH THE HYSTERIA.

Also, did anyone else lol at 'i smoked heroin once but i didn't enjoy it'? It made me think of that brass eye quote 'i took ecstacy once but i certainly didn't swallow'.

Actually all these comments are making me think of brass eye.

1. I'm pretty sure a good amount of adults have tried drugs when they were younger; they understand them just fine. They just don't want their kids doing them. And if they vehemently oppose their kids doing drugs, I sincerely doubt they're going to start smoking up with them.

2. I'm going to assume he doesn't mean hardcore drugs, because that would be really fucking idiotic.
queenweasley 30th-Apr-2012 05:16 am (UTC)
Eh, I don't think so. I'm not gonna do a line so I can warn my future kids first-hand about the dangers of cocaine.

Also in my experience the kids that are really into drugs are kids whose parents don't give a shit about them. Anecdotal, I know, but I worked with juveniles for awhile and most of the kids with substance abuse problems had serious relationship issues with their parents. And in many cases their parents were doing drugs too.

ew, that's terrible and from the little experience i've had with drug users - seems quite accurate.

Well what kind of drugs are you talking about? My senior year a bunch of kids were doing coke, not just the "bad" kids, but a lot of the popular, athletic girls, but people from every single group smoked weed at my high school.
jeveuxmacaron 30th-Apr-2012 05:16 am (UTC)
