Zooey Deschanel's Haircape got her a new job as Pantene's New Spokeswoman

Zooey Deschanel has been unveiled as Pantene‘s newest celebrity ambassador!

“I am so excited to be a part of the Pantene family. Anyone who knows me knows that I am really into hair. I’m a real girly girl and love doing my hair and experimenting with different styles,” the 32-year-old New Girl star shared.

“Being a ‘Pantene girl’ has been a dream of mine since I was a little kid. It is really amazing to be representing the Pantene Beautiful Lengths Collection, the products are fantastic and Pantene also supports the Pantene Beautiful Lengths program which is a wonderful cause,” Zooey added. “Pantene is helping to provide confidence and beautiful real-hair wigs to women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment; you can’t put a price on that.”

Guuuuuuuuurl you need moisture. Either get some Aussie Moist + 3 Minute Miracle, or go straight to Lush and buy some shampoo/conditioners with ingredients like coconut oil and avocado. R&B does wonders for me.

Thanks for the tip, R&B sounds like the perfect fit for my hair.

Curly Girl method. CO with Triple Nutrition. Use Kinky Curl Custard if you gel your curls.

Is there a way to deal with super thick hair without blowdrying or flat irons? I hate to use those on my hair and I rarely do it, I just let my hair do what it wants. Unfortunately it wants to be an out of control mess.

tie it back and out of the way.

/speaking from bitter experience

I'm still working on my own hair issues, but things that work for me = more conditioner than shampoo, coconut oil on the ends, braiding it while wet and also not giving a fuck.
zoom_z00m 29th-Apr-2012 09:55 pm (UTC)
ok this is my flawless hair cape attack plan
1. WEN it's like a cleansing conditioner so it doesn't strip ur hair of necessary oils!!
2. Comb thoroughly with a fine-ish comb
3. BRAID it when it's damp
4. SLEEP with it in a braid then undo it in the morning
IT WORKS SO AMAZING I SWEAR

a keratin treatment would be beneficial as well.. there's the at home one by organix but if you have a lot of hair like me you might want to have someone help you
thetxbelle 29th-Apr-2012 09:59 pm (UTC)
it's not long enough to braid yet, its almost shoulder length, is WEN only at salons?

I want long hair again but it looks so pretty when its chin length UGH why is hair so complicated???

Oh good, another "I really love animals but I'll take that huge check, P&G" Ellen-type. Even if she's not a vegan/veg anymore, it kind of seems like a slap in the face to her sister.

Also, no-'poo for the win. Or JR Liggett shampoo bars when I'm too lazy to mix the baking soda.

"Being a ‘Pantene girl’ has been a dream of mine since I was a little kid."

HAHAHAHA REALLY? Because Pantene totally tests their shit on animals and is loaded with nasty chemicals. But that does tend to fade into the background when you're pursuing the Almighty $$$

What a fucking poser.
her_historia 30th-Apr-2012 07:45 am (UTC)
Aren't the main ingredients in Pantene made up of fatty alcohols, silicone, and conditioning ingredients...the same chemicals used in the majority of other shampoo/conditioning products? I mean, what else are they adding that others aren't?
silentxstrom 29th-Apr-2012 09:50 pm (UTC)
the relaxed and natural from Pantene is utter crap. it made my hair so dry.
bottomofursoul 29th-Apr-2012 09:59 pm (UTC)
Do you have Cadum in the USA?
My hair used to be so frizzy and dry, and since I use it, it's much better. It's like baby shampoo but it exists for adults and it's so nice.

Also, Argan Oil (the true one, not the shampoo with argon oil in it) is amazing. You put some on your head, and keep it for a few hours before washing your hair, it makes them less frizzy and shinier.

Pantene tests on animals tho. Isn't she vegan?
kapuki234 29th-Apr-2012 10:20 pm (UTC)
Does anyone have recommendations for thin, sometimes oily hair thats prone to dryness at the ends?
outofroutine26 29th-Apr-2012 11:21 pm (UTC)
Natural shampoos that won't strip your oils, and a boar bristle brush. Try not to wash the ends either, they get clean enough from the run-off when rinsing.

"“Being a ‘Pantene girl’ has been a dream of mine since I was a little kid."

Right, I'm so sure it was

I've been using Giovanni Organic shampoo and conditioner for the past couple of months and i love it!
mmegorey 29th-Apr-2012 10:31 pm (UTC)
I used to use that. I *love* the way it smells!
mmegorey 29th-Apr-2012 10:30 pm (UTC)
I wash my hair with baking soda, lmfao. I'm allergic to something in most shampoos and they make me itch like crazy.
outofroutine26 29th-Apr-2012 11:20 pm (UTC)
Same. Best thing I ever did for my hair.
mmegorey 30th-Apr-2012 11:25 am (UTC)
Agreed! Did you ever need to use a conditioner when you switched? I had to use coconut oil on my ends until my hair got used to the switch.
futrefilmdirctr 29th-Apr-2012 10:31 pm (UTC)
Pantene is horrible for your hair. Zooey annoys me to the point of pulling my hair out.

Flawless combination, tbh.
the_only_babbs 29th-Apr-2012 10:36 pm (UTC)
I used to use Kerastase but I can't afford it anymore. Now I use H20 Plus Sea Marine shampoo and conditioner. It's really lovely. http://www.h2oplus.com/category/hair+care/sea+marine+volumizing.do
