Star Wars Land Coming to Disneyland Paris?

Rumor has it that Star Wars Land is coming to Disneyland Paris (and I will likely never get a chance to see it.) I had an incident there once involving beating a mime with a baguette. Don’t ask. The Paris version of Disneyland sounds awesome. Did you know they have an Indiana Jones ride? A Finding Nemo rollercoaster? And now a Star Wars themed section is said to be coming soon.

A Star Wars theme park in Paris would be pretty amazing. It is rumored to be coming to Disneyland Paris in 2015, so the Imagineers are probably working hard on all of the details right now. I imagine there will be an Ewok Village, a Millenium Falcon ride and hopefully a game where you can beat Jar Jar repeatedly.

I would settle for nothing less than beating Jar Jar myself. It should be a fun place. Hopefully we will get more details soon. (Note: the concept sketch above is just that, and not representative of the actual park.)

SOURCE

I think the idea sounds good in retrospect...but idk if it will work. Star Tours is amazing btw.

Such a weird place to put it.
cruel_april 29th-Apr-2012 09:15 pm (UTC)
Why? Star Wars is massively popular here as well, and Star Tours has always been one of the most popular attractions.
inthemirror 29th-Apr-2012 09:38 pm (UTC)
Just because Star Wars is an american franchise and I imagine it'd do better (ie: more people would come to it specifically for this) in California or Florida.

Do they even have star wars week in DL Paris?
drcorton 29th-Apr-2012 08:37 pm (UTC)
I just want a Marvel theme park even though I know that is never going to happen
chikntetrazzini 29th-Apr-2012 08:57 pm (UTC)
Islands of Adventure is a marvel theme park...
drcorton 29th-Apr-2012 08:59 pm (UTC)
duh. I meant an entire theme park devoted to Marvel
guadalcanal 29th-Apr-2012 09:00 pm (UTC)

wonderwomanhero 29th-Apr-2012 09:31 pm (UTC)

succubuzz 29th-Apr-2012 08:40 pm (UTC)

bananasnrum 29th-Apr-2012 08:56 pm (UTC)
brb going to france in three+ years
fabouluz 29th-Apr-2012 08:59 pm (UTC)
Disneyland Paris is a flop Disney daughter.
cruel_april 29th-Apr-2012 09:17 pm (UTC)
I disagree, I've been there loads of times as well as Disney World and Disneyland in L.A., and I think it's extremely succesful and fun to boot.
trikc 29th-Apr-2012 10:20 pm (UTC)
You may like it but it's lost money almost every year it's been open. Compared to most Disney projects, it's a complete failure.

jmfunnyface 29th-Apr-2012 09:37 pm (UTC)
I went there with that opinion, and I have to say that it was pretty amazing.
bluekrinkle 29th-Apr-2012 10:21 pm (UTC)
Financial figures would suggest you are correct.
I'm going to guess that's why they're doing this Star Wars thing.
parissima 30th-Apr-2012 07:42 pm (UTC)
It's sad because it's such a fun theme park. Better than the one in LA, imho. :/
nastyposition 29th-Apr-2012 08:59 pm (UTC)
I'm going there next year. I haven't heard AMAZING things yet. Anyone been there?
teenageriot16 29th-Apr-2012 09:05 pm (UTC)
I've been there every year since I was 12 around Christmastime, and I adore it.

But if you like big rides and rollercoasters, you'll probably be disappointed.
inthemirror 29th-Apr-2012 09:37 pm (UTC)
It's got my favorite castle of all the disney parks.
smackfrikinwhat 29th-Apr-2012 09:39 pm (UTC)
I went there a couple of months ago and it was pretty nice. Just hope for some good weather. They should have built it in the south in my opinion!
jungsoo 29th-Apr-2012 09:42 pm (UTC)
I like it but I never went to any other Disney park as I 'm french.
As teenageriot16 said, there's not many great rollercoasters though, there's the nemo and the Rock 'n' Roller in Disney Studio (it's divided in two parks to make you spend twice more money!), especially the later when it starts you're just like OMG. IT starts SO freaking fast rofl.
In the original disney park there's space mountain which is awesome, and I guess the indiana jones one but I never enjoyed it that much...

Everything else is for kids kinda. There's still the whole atmosphere of course and tons of funny attractions to make like the Alice's cup but nothing with that much adrenalyn...

Th best park for that in france is the Asterix theme park, it's more for grown ups I guess as there's more roller coasters however it's not the same atmosphere and you get it mostly if you were raised up with the Asterix comics.
nastyposition 29th-Apr-2012 09:46 pm (UTC)
thank you for this comment <3
lovely_tunes 29th-Apr-2012 10:26 pm (UTC)
you forgot La Tour de la Terreur. which was AWESOME! lol
guadalcanal 29th-Apr-2012 08:59 pm (UTC)
Nobody likes Disneyland Paris

Or so all the British tourist tell me when they're here in Orlando lol
sparkfactory 29th-Apr-2012 09:02 pm (UTC)
i solely want to go b/c i hear their version of the haunted mansion is awesome
guadalcanal 29th-Apr-2012 09:05 pm (UTC)
tbh I'm jealous of how large it is, even in comparison to Disney World's but majority of the inside is the same from the videos on youtube. The outside is what's killer.
teenageriot16 29th-Apr-2012 09:06 pm (UTC)
As soon as you walk in, it goes pitch black, and the floor drops.
jessi_cola 29th-Apr-2012 09:24 pm (UTC)
I don't remember much of it when I went a couple of years back but it's definitely more suited towards younger people.*

*as in, there aren't "epic" rides or anything like that.

I went in January, and I was really surprised by it. I thought it was really nice--especially the castle. Also, there were like no lines (because we went on a Tuesday in January), which is pretty much what I hate the most about going to the ones in the U.S.
jungsoo 29th-Apr-2012 09:44 pm (UTC)
Og it's not that bad! I went just 2 weeks ago and ok it's more for the whole disney atmosphere than for the roller coasters but it's still nice! For the adrenalin we have the Asterix theme park, tons of awesome roller coasters there!
sparkfactory 29th-Apr-2012 09:03 pm (UTC)
well cars land surprisingly looks super amazing, so i could see this working

i'm going to be working at WDW when new fantasyland is opening WOOOOOOOO
moliphino 29th-Apr-2012 09:05 pm (UTC)
The Nemo roller coaster is awesome. I was there the summer it opened and had to wait over an hour to ride it, but it was worth it.

All Disney park expansions get me excited.
moliphino 29th-Apr-2012 09:07 pm (UTC)
Space Mountain in Paris is also so much better than the one in Florida.
cruel_april 29th-Apr-2012 09:21 pm (UTC)
Agreed sfm!
aaido 29th-Apr-2012 09:41 pm (UTC)
ia, I have to say I was surprised when I was on the ride and it went upsidedown. Pleasantly surprised.
jungsoo 29th-Apr-2012 09:45 pm (UTC)
Did you do the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster? I thought it was the best one, the way it starts I was like WTF WOW sooo cool! ^^
rubyfriday 1st-May-2012 08:29 pm (UTC)
I've never seen that coaster UNDER an hour. Worst capacity of any ride I've ever been on, even early morning in off-season. It is pretty awesome, and on of a handful of things unique to DLRP.
missselarne 29th-Apr-2012 09:22 pm (UTC)
Gonna be in France next year, can't wait to check this park off my list!
jungsoo 29th-Apr-2012 09:46 pm (UTC)
OMG Star Wars!!! Thank youuuu World \o/ Finally we are getting something for not having the HP theme park in europe. YEAH.
_tigermilk 29th-Apr-2012 09:51 pm (UTC)
I'm going there next week. I can't wait to go on the Nemo ride again!
