50 Cent To Accompany Floyd Mayweather To The Ring; 50 Compares Floyd To Ali
Rap star 50 Cent will accompany Floyd Mayweather to the ring during his highly anticipated Pay-Per-View “Ring Kings: Mayweather vs. Cotto,” a 12-round fight for scheduled for May 5th.
According to Floyd, 50 Cent will walk to the ring with Floyd and perform prior to his championship bout with Miguel Cotto at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
“I think he’s the Muhammad Ali of our time,” 50 Cent said. “I think he’s the Muhammad Ali of our generation. The difference is the actual messaging points.
“In that period of time, Muhammad Ali was part of a huge movement that actually socially made him someone different,” 50 continued. “Without those issues going on, it’s tough for anyone to be near comparison to him. But Hip-Hop culture is now Pop culture. It’s so broad that there’s not anyone who’s not a part of the culture now. If you watch the artists and how many people he is relevant to and compare it to that, he [Floyd Mayweather] actually is boxing right now.” (Wat?)

Legendary NY Station KISS No More; Merges With WBLS
Urban radio in New York has undergone a major transformation, as 98.7 KISS FM will merge with 107.5 WBLS. The merger will end 30-plus years of KISS, which is owned by Emmis Communications, broadcasting to listeners in the New York/New Jersey areas.
“I extend my gratitude and deepest thanks to the many special people that created the memories and sense of community that KISS FM delivered for 30 years,” said Emmis’ New York SVP/General Manager Alexandra Cameron. “Emmis will be forever grateful. We are so very glad that a part of KISS will remain remembered through WBLS programming as they welcome beloved personalities like Shaila and Lenny Green.”
In the coming weeks, ESPN Radio will take over Kiss’ famed 98.7 frequency. KISS is recognized as being the first commercial radio station in the United States to play Hip-Hop, back in 1983, with the addition of Kool DJ Red Alert.
WBLS responded by hiring Mr. Magic and the legendary DJ’s saturated New York radio with Hip-Hop music. In addition to regularly playing rap music by future icons like Run-DMC, Whodini, Kurtis Blow, Boogie Down Productions, KRS-One and Afrika Bambaataa, KISS helped launch the career of media personality Wendy Williams.
Emmis Communications, which also owns Hot 97, bought KISS in 1994. It switched to an all-R&B format in 1999.
“WBLS and WRKS have been the voice of the tri-state black community for 30 years and we plan to merge the best
of both stations to create a stronger voice to deliver the best in R&B music while also super serving our community,” added WBLS VP/General Manager Deon Levingston. All this weekend both stations will run programming celebrating 98.7 KISS FM’s role in shaping the urban/Hip-Hop landscape.

Nas’ Baby Moms Blasts Him on Twitter for “Daughters” Track
Carmen Bryan, the mother of Nasty’s 17-year-old daughter Destiny, who Nas references throughout the song, took to Twitter to express her displeasure with the track.
“Just heard “Daughters” by Nas. What a disappointment! He had nothing positive to say about our daughter and his depiction of her is false!” she wrote. “Perhaps her father should be talking to her and spending more time with her so he can really get to know her…Destiny will be 18 in 2 months. Over it!”
On the song, Nas raps about his daughter writing letters to a man in jail and posting pictures of a box of condoms on a social networking site, blaming himself for some of her risqué behavior for not being more strict.
Nas recently sat down with XXLMag.com to discuss the track, saying about his teen daughter, “She’s so important to me and she always has been. They grow so fast and time flies, man. Before you know it, you’re looking at a little lady.
“She’s my first kid, my first time watching a child become a teen and a little adult before my eyes,” he continued. “That’s one of the most important things in my life: she is. I can’t get away from talking about it. It’s actually one of the first songs I recorded for this album.”

The Other Meaning of Dr. Dre’s Detox
LMAO! That blue crop top is killing me softly...but good for him for looking after his health.
Who said Detox ain’t ever coming out? Okay, Dr. Dre’s highly-anticipated album hasn’t seen the day of light just yet, but his Detox diet program has already been hard at work. Just take a look at this before-and-after picture of Warren G. Following Dre’s killer workout regimen, detoxed him of all his fats and toxins until the Regulator was back in shape. “A lot of people in my family have high blood pressure” Warren told TMZ. “Dre told me I better start hitting the gym…so I took his advice.” Detox been out!
Eminem had success with Dre’s Detox regimen, losing weight and getting in shape. Busta too lost weight and added muscle for a chiseled look, only to gain it all back. Shit, it happens! Let’s see if Dre could work his magic on Rick Ross. The two have been collaborating, but can Dre push Rozay through the Detox plan? Only time will tell. HUUNH!
