this show should've been pitched to the USA Network, where the first La Femme Nikita tv show was aired. Not to some start-up network that caters to teens.
True but let's say NBC bought it because it thought the show would do well and IIRC, critics listed Nikita as one of the best pilots of that fall season, so the network would have pimped the hell out of it. Part of CW's problem is that it does promote the show so people didn't realize that the hiatuses are over or that it changed its scheduling.
The only reason why I'd say USA wouldn't buy it from CW is because of Covert Affairs (and even though I think CA has more better actors) but Nikita >>>> Covert Affairs. I wished Nikita stole Oded Fehr away from CA tbh.
I used to find Ryan boring as fuck and then that guy from Oversight threatened him with death and he was all "LOL BRING IT THE FUCK ON, CHUCKLES, LIKE I GIVE SHIT" and I was all "Damn he's got balls" and started liking him after that. IDK, I thought it was badass and I was so happy when Amanda faked his death and then when Nikita finally found out he was alive.
I'll see what he's up to this episode before I declare him useless.
If I remember correctly, he was an actor pretending to be Mr. Jones :P It's fun to see him, Ari (who played an agent from Section One too) and Madeline, though they could have changed her name.
I started liking Ryan in the episode his death was faked. I was so incredibly sad he died, and was beyond joy at the end of the episode with him alive in Division. I'm glad he's serving a purpose on the show now.
oooo....caught up in the summer and then kinda lost track of it throughout this past season and was planning on catching up with it this summer :-/ bummer
It's fuckin' amazing, avoid spoilers at all costs, and enjoy the shit out of it. Hell, you should just watch it now, it's too good to wait for a third season pickup.

It's a fucking long shot, bb, it's only happened a handful of times ever so don't get your hopes up. But Ausiello changing its renewal chances to a safe bet has my hopes sky high at the moment, he'd better not be wrong.

I love that the women on this show are bad ass without strutting around snarking all of the time. Even Amanda; maybe it's the actress' eyes but she can just stand behind someone staring and still look intimidating. When they set out to get shit done, they do it. Hope it gets renewed!
IKR? They get shit done on their own, and while they do get help from the guys, they've carried out tons of their own missions and they save the guys sometimes as well. Hell yeah!

This is the reason it needs to stay on air for five seasons, there aren't many shows out there centred on the relationship between two women who don't backstab each other and are always fighting. And when they were on the outs it was for an actual, non-bullshit reason, not ~jealousy or some shit like that.
You know, I never thought about how they're actually partners and are always there for each other as much as they are as so much of a plus, but now that you mention it I realise how rare it is on tv. Makes me love them even more.
Every Nikita episode is awesome, lbr. No other CW show has as consistent high quality of writing and acting. I kills me that the ratings can't be better.
And can Alex and Sean make out soon? Losin' my patience here!
Ah, I just caught up with the Nikita craze. I fucking love this show. It's the most "realistic" CIA/black ops show/movie I've ever seen. I like how everything is about the money, how international the transactions are, and how realistic the close-up gun shots are as well. There are so many different weapons used! The long shots of the gun-shooting is a bit fake-ish looking, but this is a pretty mature show -- the relationships are really complex and mature, too.
A thousand awards to Maggie Q. She really sells her multifaceted character.
Also, this cast is flawless on Twitter. FLAW-LESS.
