Rosie O'Donnell is on the warpath over the casting of Lindsay Lohan in the new Liz Taylor biopic ... saying LiLo simply isn't "capable" to perform the role because her personal life is still a disaster.
Rosie was on the "Today" show with Matt Lauer and Donny Deutsch ... when it was announced that Lohan will play Taylor in the upcoming Lifetime movie, "Liz and Dick."
O'Donnell instantly made her feelings known -- "I feel very sorry for her ... I think she needs a lot of time away ... She's had a lot of trouble doing every single movie, including SNL. She was out and not in rehearsal. I think she's not in a place to work."
When Deutsch suggested, "She's our generation's Elizabeth Taylor" ... O'Donnell lost it.
"You're out of your mind! You're a crackhead! The last thing she did good she was sixteen."
Rosie continued, "I don't think she's right for the role and I don't think she's capable at this point to portray that character."

Lindsey was and will always be a talented, natural actress.
And let's be real. I liked her as much as anyone else during her peak at Mean Girls, but she never proved she was a talented actress. She was a decent actress, sure, but she never did anything to make anyone say wow. She was on par with pretty much every other starlet around her age at the time. Yes, she had that "it," that something about her, but that went out the window along with her career when she started doing drugs, and I doubt she will ever get it back
tho i've always attributed it to her restricting disney roles. i guess i'm reserving judgement for when she gets something better

Actors who actually did know her: Colin Farrell, Rose McGowan etc have not spoken out against Lohan.

If anything, LiLo should be the subject of a Lifetime movie tbh.

If anyone is our generation's Liz is Angelina, she's known for her beauty as much as Liz was, the press is obsessed with her and Brad Pitt just like the press was obsessed with Liz and Richard Burton, she has "homewrecker" fame, hated by many but loved by most, she's the leading movie star of her generation, etc.
her starring roles have taken a complete back seat to everything else she is doing nowadays
and I feel like she's rotated between the same two roles for the last 10 years
But I do disagree with Lohan being casted for this.
