David Banner To Speak on 1992 L.A. Riots At Harvard University



David Banner will be one of panelists at The LA Riots: Twenty Years Later Conference taking place at Harvard University on April 27 & 28.

The rapper/producer will join leading scholars, activists and artists to take part in a discussion about the events that took place 20 years ago and what lasting affects the 1992 riots have had.

Hollywood Squares Rebooted as Hip-Hop Squares; Ghostface Killah Is the New Charro



Remember the other night when The Game dumped two bottles of $1,400 Ace Of Spades champagne on the street and then bought hot dogs for everyone, and you were like, "I would really enjoy this sort of joie de vivre in a square"?

MTV2 has rebooted the kitschy classic game show Hollywood Squares as Hip-Hop Squares. It is exactly what it sounds like: Rappers, comedians, DJs, and assumedly the Twitter-famous answering trivia questions about pop culture.

Among those tapped for the first season are Community star Donald Glover, neé Childish Gambino, Machine Gun Kelly, Fat Joe, Method Man, DJ Khaled, Amber Rose and Wu Tang alum Ghostface; all are encouraged to hit the open bar in the green room backstage (cameras rolling, natch). Glover and Kelly, seated in the lowest row, joked about how they were seated in "the projects."

The quotables keeps coming with Suge Knight, as the former Death Row mogul threatened to put hands on Rick Ross.

While Suge Knight's wild speculations that Tupac may still be alive earned him a lot of publicity today, it looks like that wasn't the only memorable soundbite he dropped during his interview with 93.5 KDay. The former Death Row head honcho also threatened to put hands on Rick Ross over his song "Tupac Back."

"I can't sit up here and say I'm bitter to Rick Ross, 'cus like anybody else, we don't know Rick Ross," Suge said. "That's a guy who uses somebody else's name. This guy comes from being a correctional officer. I don't got nothing negative [against him] personally, I just feel like he do do good music, and you can't take that from him. That boy got bars, he's gonna write…at the same time, I feel like there's a line you cross, and Rick Ross crossed that line. If you're gonna be with guy [Diddy] who killed Tupac, you can't go turn around and do a record [called] 'Tupac Back'…Rick Ross is a grown ass nigga. I'll beat the dog shit out of Rick Ross for manipulating these people out here."

Juvenile Returns To NY Stage After 8 Years; Reconnects With Mannie Fresh



(AllHipHop News) New Orleans rapper Juvenile hit the stage at SOB’s in New York last night (April 19) and debuted new material from his new mixtape and upcoming album.

“Just being here, everybody walking up to me saying ‘good show,’so that’s touching to me,” Juvenile told AllHipHop.com. “It’s a big thing when New York [Hip-Hop fans] come up and say that, especially when they’re asking about the new songs.”

Juvie said his new album will be released via a new deal with Universal, the major label that will handle the marketing and distribution for Rejuvenation.
