Simpson's Post!

Jessica Simpson to give birth by C-Section

Jessica Simpson reportedly wants to give birth by caesarean section because she is terrified of pain.

The 31-year-old 'Fashion Star' mentor is due to welcome her first child with fiancé Eric Johnson any day now, and has apparently decided last minute she is too scared to push.

The singer-turned-fashion mogul had planned to have a live-in nurse at her Beverly Hills mansion and a luxury birthing suite reserved at Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre, but after trying and failing to conquer her fears, she is said to have changed her mind about the method of her daughter's delivery.

A source told In Touch Weekly: ''The thought of going into labor scared the bejeezus out of her. She was so anxious, she was even breaking into cold sweats at night.

''Jessica has no tolerance for pain. She even turned to hypnotherapy to calm her fears about it, but nothing was working.

''She desperately wanted to experience the joy of a natural birth, but decided to go with what made the most sense for her.''

Meanwhile, father-to-be Eric will be on hand to support her through the process.

The source added: ''Eric is a calming force for Jessica. Eric is so excited about the birth.''

Is Jessica Simpson in the prego-homestretch?

Jessica Simpson waited in a Range Rover today (April 18th) while mom Tina Simpson headed into a Los Angeles Chili’s to pick up take-out.  Reports are buzzing about a rumor that Simpson might have already had her baby girl, and is just keeping a low profile…just cause.  There are also reports that Simpson is opting for a C-section because she’s terrified of the pain that comes with childbirth.

”The thought of going into labor scared the bejeezus out of her,” a source allegedly told In Touch.  ”She was so anxious, she was even breaking into cold sweats at night.  Jessica has no tolerance for pain. She even turned to hypnotherapy to calm her fears about it, but nothing was working.

“She desperately wanted to experience the joy of a natural birth, but decided to go with what made the most sense for her.”

From these photos, we can’t tell if Simpson has birthed the babe.

Jessica Alba "can't wait" to meet Jessica Simpson's Baby

She said of the 'Fashion Star' mentor: “She’s so sweet! [Her sister] Ashlee and I had already had babies. [Now,] we [can] talk shop about all the baby stuff and the different stuff we’ve learned … I can’t wait to see [Jessica’s] baby!”

But as far as her own little family is concerned, the 30-year-old insists she is done baby-making for now.

She told Access Hollywood: “I’m happy with my two girls … down the road in five or 10 years, who knows, but for right now, I’m good.”

Having just launched a non-toxic baby product website called Honest.com, Jessica wants to devote a bit of time to getting the business off the ground and to re-visiting her acting career.

She said of the website: “This is my third baby. I have actively gotten back into acting. I did my first movie since I had Haven. So that was really fun and exciting.

“I actually got more sleep in that one week than I’ve had in seven-and-a-half months,” she said with a laugh.

Ashlee Simpson and Bronx visit NYC, indicating Jessica Simpson’s due date is likely not imminent

It looks like the world will have to wait a little longer for the arrival of Jessica Simpson's baby. Earlier today, Ashlee Simpson, younger sister of the "Fashion Star" mentor, touched down in New York City with her 3-year-old son, Bronx Wentz. They are in the Big Apple for a visit — perhaps to spend time with Ashlee's boyfriend "Boardwalk Empire" star Vincent Piazza, who resides there — making it seem highly unlikely that her famous sister will be giving birth anytime soon.

Ashlee, 27, and her curly-haired cutie were all smiles after their cross-country flight. In the series of photos of the twosome, they were dressed in color-coordinated outfits — mostly darker hues of black and gray — and Bronx, whose dad is Ashlee's ex-husband Pete Wentz, clutched a Lego toy. Later, he rested his head on her shoulder for a nap.

In February during New York Fashion Week, Ashlee and Piazza, who have been dating since last year, gave their first joint interview. He said that there's nothing better than when she visits him in the Big Apple. "I love when we get to spend time in New York together," he told reporters. "It's where I'm from so we always have a good time." Their idea of a perfect night? They like to "hang at home and cook," she said. He called her "my sous chef" and said their favorite meals to make are "fish or pasta or something, steaks." She gushed: "He's amazing."

It's an exciting time for the extended Simpson family as Jessica nears the arrival of her first child with her fiancé Eric Johnson. After announcing her pregnancy on Halloween, Jessica has shared (and sometimes over shared) many details of her pregnancy with the public, especially as she's spent the last few months promoting her NBC reality series. However, after hitting just about every talk show imaginable and sharing funny pregnancy observations — like "I feel like a bowling ball sitting on my hoo-ha," which she told Jimmy Kimmel — in the last couple weeks the fashionista has been out of the spotlight. She still tweets during her weekly show, but she hasn't been photographed at all recently.

omg! reached out to Jessica's rep to see if she's on bed rest, but we have not yet received a response.

Either way, Jessica is in the home stretch, but — with her sister across the country — she can't be that close to her due date. Can she?

When do you think Jessica will give birth? Take a guess below!

venetianglass 21st-Apr-2012 11:40 am (UTC)
I'm convinced Jessica's got 4 babies in there. Otherwise she's an elephant and has been pregnant for 2 years.
hrdtxpln 21st-Apr-2012 11:51 am (UTC)
Did they ever confirm the gender of the baby or how many she's carrying?
hotness3ya 21st-Apr-2012 11:34 am (UTC)
Disappointed this isn't about homer.

haha, my apologies <3
darkwarrior 21st-Apr-2012 11:34 am (UTC)
I don't think a vaginal birth is even an option when you're birthing a small truck.
iceynickles 21st-Apr-2012 11:48 am (UTC)
my grandmother had a 10lb baby, my tall uncle, vaginally lol /csb
hrdtxpln 21st-Apr-2012 11:50 am (UTC)
Oh dear lord, I read that as "my grandmother had a 10lb baby - a tall uncle, vaginally" and got reminded of those hamster birth vids on YT where one tiny hamster gives birth to like five babies that are bigger than the hamster soidgjdsoigjso
iworshipsatin 21st-Apr-2012 02:33 pm (UTC)
Mine was 9lbs13oz.and was easy peasy. My grandma had a 12lber vaginally. We like to make gigantic babies.
punzypoo 21st-Apr-2012 06:27 pm (UTC)
My brother was over 11 lbs, and she had him vaginally! My poor mother, she had some big ass babies.
noneformethanx 21st-Apr-2012 02:45 pm (UTC)

Size of the head matters, weight of the baby not that much.

wow i totally forgot ashlee had a kid

forgot about ashlee in general tbh
odontv 21st-Apr-2012 11:40 am (UTC)
That baby's had a longer career than she's had.
darkwarrior 21st-Apr-2012 04:06 pm (UTC)
LMAO. This is the winning comment.
plaidpineapple 21st-Apr-2012 11:40 am (UTC)
That makes sense. Let them cut through muscle and uterus because you're too afraid to push. That won't hurt at all for weeks after.

69love_songs 21st-Apr-2012 11:44 am (UTC)
lol ikr, a c-section is a pretty major operation for most people. idgi.
plaidpineapple 21st-Apr-2012 11:49 am (UTC)
Exactly. It's great for when it's necessary (emergency, or subsequent births where it's safer?) but electives don't make a lot of sense to me. The recovery time is arguably much longer and more painful (granted you have a somewhat normal vaginal birth on the flip side). I've had two vaginal births and needed IBprofen for like, two days.
tackyblue 22nd-Apr-2012 03:36 am (UTC)
Yeah, I'm always intrigued by women who are afraid to go through labor but somehow think major abdominal surgery will be so much easier.
ciel_est_bleu 21st-Apr-2012 11:46 am (UTC)
Yeah - I don't really get to judge because I haven't yet been pregnant/ giving birth and I'm terrified of it, but a c-section seems way worse to me. Also because you don't get to "forget" about the pain as most mothers do (biologigally determined).
hoot 21st-Apr-2012 01:13 pm (UTC)
Yeah, everyone I know whose had both vaginal deliveries and c-sections say that c-sections are a million times worse.

And a girl in my town died a couple of years ago from complications after a c-section so that scared me out of ever getting one.
distant_lines 21st-Apr-2012 02:03 pm (UTC)
Exactly, if you're afraid of pain, wouldn't the logical choice be to go with the option that doesn't require them to slice you open? Just get an epidural.
frklphace 21st-Apr-2012 02:16 pm (UTC)
omg mte i hate that ppl opt for a c section like its a joke/minor procedure
xtinkerbellax 21st-Apr-2012 02:28 pm (UTC)
Yea, my mom always says it took her a year to feel normal again after her c section with me.
iworshipsatin 21st-Apr-2012 02:34 pm (UTC)
Or like me years! Stupid adhesions! Vaginally is wayyyyyy easier.
noneformethanx 21st-Apr-2012 02:47 pm (UTC)
The doctor for my first son insisted in c-section. He wasn't breech or anything, I was like "why should I have unneeded surgery?". The doctor had a fucking golf tournament that week. I changed doctors and had him natural
ascot_gavotte 21st-Apr-2012 02:57 pm (UTC)
maybe the real story is that it refuses to come out by itself so they have to make it? i always take Intouch type shit with a grain of salt.
zombiebasturd 21st-Apr-2012 03:03 pm (UTC)
MTE. I have had two c-sections, neither were a pain-free picnic. She has no idea what she is getting into.
cityxpretty 21st-Apr-2012 06:59 pm (UTC)
If I ever get pregnant, I'd most likely have to have a c-section for some health reasons and I'm terrified! My mom said I'm lucky because you don't have to wait through labor, but idk...I'd rather just get it over with and not have to worry about that giant incision healing.
fly_chickadee 21st-Apr-2012 07:25 pm (UTC)
I watched an actual C-section done for one of my patients in my rotation...holy shit, they have to cut through so many layers and to sew it back up...*shudders*

Just have a freaking epidural, the down time for a C-section is way longer and way more painful, and has more risks and complications post-op.
jigglyfuzz 22nd-Apr-2012 02:19 am (UTC)
Not that I endorse elective C-sections, but after 36 hrs of labor I ended with a C-section...and I have to say it hasnt been that bad. I'm 6wks post now and I feel pretty much back to normal. Yeah I was sore and stiff the first few days. I needed a hand getting out of bed. But I have heard from friends that had 4th degree tears who needed just as much help the first few days and at 12 wks post are still in more pain than me.
celtic_thistle 24th-Apr-2012 01:54 am (UTC)
Super late to this post but ia, C-sections TERRIFY me and I'm not scared at all of pregnancy/childbirth. Fuck that, it's major surgery and they take your organs out and tkjhfklgjhsfukhsg NO THANKS
iceynickles 21st-Apr-2012 11:47 am (UTC)
I hope whenever she does give birth that it goes well and she heals up easily. LOLing at the no pain though. Hah! She's going to have to deal with the incision site pain unless she drugs herself up until it's all healed. My SIL gave birth a few months ago and she was quite attached to the girdle I guess they must have given her. Her insides felt too sloshy otherwise.
hrdtxpln 21st-Apr-2012 11:48 am (UTC)
Yessss, thank you for this post, bb ;)
queenweasley 21st-Apr-2012 11:51 am (UTC)
If I ever had to have a C-section (I don't think I would ever say yes to one unless it was medically necessary) they would have to put me completely under. I wouldn't be able to lay there knowing they are slicing and digging into my abdomen behind a curtain like I see on TV. FUCK THAT.
plaidpineapple 21st-Apr-2012 11:55 am (UTC)
I know someone who felt the beginning of hers because the meds didn't kick in in time. Talk about FUCK THAT.
aellylis 21st-Apr-2012 12:01 pm (UTC)
oh god no.
bienenkiste 21st-Apr-2012 12:21 pm (UTC)
o hale no
heulog 21st-Apr-2012 12:33 pm (UTC)
I knew a guy who was awake during his entire vasectomy because the meds weren't administered properly.

Naturally, he didn't sue. Because he's British.
xeatxep 21st-Apr-2012 12:58 pm (UTC)
I felt the whole thing. The doc that was giving me pain meds said to squeeze her hand if I could feel anything that hurt worse than a pinch.
She kept giving me more and more drugs, I eventually threw up on her lap. Even all drugged up, I could still feel more than "just a bad pinch", but it wasn't as bad as when they first started.

After that experience, I decided I will never EVER get a tummy tuck.
nachomuchacho 21st-Apr-2012 01:31 pm (UTC)
My sister n law said she could feel the cutting, well it felt like someone running a marker around but still...the sensation. Yikes.
nachomuchacho 21st-Apr-2012 01:32 pm (UTC)
I'm the exact same. Plus c section recoveries are a bitch.
auxoriousrex 21st-Apr-2012 01:51 pm (UTC)
You think about it after, not during lol. My hb said he saw me opened up and had to shut it out of his mind very quick.
fabuleuxx 21st-Apr-2012 01:54 pm (UTC)
My cousin didn't feel anything when they cut her but during -she panicked at the thought and begged the doctors to put her under so they did. At least we have that..
distant_lines 21st-Apr-2012 02:05 pm (UTC)
I think they'd pretty much have to do a c-section against my will. Me and surgery just don't go well together. Besides, if you breast feed, what kind of pain meds can they even give you?
slut_talk 21st-Apr-2012 11:53 am (UTC)
My god she's still pregnant?? I don't even know how she's doing it. I feel like three kids are going to pop out of her.
aellylis 21st-Apr-2012 12:07 pm (UTC)
Can't wait is a bit of an understatement at this point.
bienenkiste 21st-Apr-2012 12:34 pm (UTC)

Both my daughters were delivered by C-Section. Didn't have any problems at all.

genkibassoon 21st-Apr-2012 12:19 pm (UTC)
My guess is with all of the crap she's been eating and how much weight she's gained is that old girl is gestational diabetic. They tend to have c-sections because the babies just get too large and the shoulders get stuck.
sjcolorado 21st-Apr-2012 01:25 pm (UTC)
Sounds about right to me. The polyhydramnios usually happens because of GDM. I work in OB and she just looks like all of the other GDM people. They just have this "look" about them. Not sure how to explain it.
nachomuchacho 21st-Apr-2012 01:35 pm (UTC)
I said this is another post and was torn to shreds.
yolleh 21st-Apr-2012 01:41 pm (UTC)
My mum is really petite and I was a hell of a fat baby so they ended up having to dislocate my shoulders to get me out. /csb
fabuleuxx 21st-Apr-2012 02:20 pm (UTC)
Modern science is a ruthless bitch.
_mo_mhile_gra_ 21st-Apr-2012 02:12 pm (UTC)
Yeah my first thought was gestational diabetes, too. My doctor warned me that if you gain too much weight too fast during your first trimester, GD is pretty much a given in the second & third and the baby will be at least 9lbs.
sarahsumbrella 22nd-Apr-2012 03:25 am (UTC)
If she does have gestational diabetes, she'll be on a strict diet and have to measure her food and monitor her blood sugar closely. If she is ignoring the diet and eating herself stupid she deserves a punch in the face, thats so bad for the baby.
heulog 21st-Apr-2012 12:36 pm (UTC)
I really, really hate myself for the fact that, whenever I hear someone has opted for a C-section for no other reason than they want to avoid pain or keep their vagina pretty, I immediately judge them.

Because there's absolutely no reason why they shouldn't give birth the way they want to... it's their choice, ultimately, and as long as they're told the possible complications that can arise and are briefed on the whole thing thoroughly, it shouldn't really be an issue. And yet my immediate response when I hear it is negative. :( Gah. As if it somehow makes them less than a woman or something. I hate when my brain betrays me like that.
palmthejoker 21st-Apr-2012 01:28 pm (UTC)
I know what you mean. It's that whole "too posh to push" thing that always pops into my head when I hear a mom made the choice to have a c-section when it wasn't medically necessary.

I think for me, it's that c-sections sound horrendous so why would you choose to have abdominal surgery with a long recovery time, when it could be just a few days?
roguewave3 21st-Apr-2012 01:49 pm (UTC)
I get what you mean but it takes longer than a few days for some women to recover from childbirth.
nachomuchacho 21st-Apr-2012 01:36 pm (UTC)
Exactly. I'm a baby, I was nervous but you have to suck it up. Plus adrenaline really helps you through.
for_serious13 21st-Apr-2012 01:56 pm (UTC)
i do the same bb.
ascot_gavotte 21st-Apr-2012 03:00 pm (UTC)
gurl I know you said that you know it's not right but I don't like when ppl are like "if you don't do x you're not a real woman." If you're a woman, you're a woman.

violue 21st-Apr-2012 04:19 pm (UTC)
At least you realize there's something amiss in your reaction? :D
celtic_thistle 24th-Apr-2012 01:57 am (UTC)
Super late to this post, but I agree kinda. I feel like your vag is MEANT to shove a bb out; yeah there can be tears and such, but FUCK cutting through muscle and moving organs around just to preserve your perfect~ vagina. FUCK THAT SHIT. I think deep down it's catering to this bullshit idea of a vagina existing solely to feel good for a penis.

Of course it's every woman's individual choice and we should be free to make those choices, but to me, it feels...weird.
