I think you have to look at the age groups of people playing the games you're in. As a gamer who just happens to be a chick (I hate that "gamer girl~" term since I am a gamer just as much as anyone else without genitals being involved) I tend to notice that if I get harassed, it's in the games where younger people flock and that's not specific to my gender. Xbox is where I get it the worst, especially on the occasional game of Halo or CoD. On the PC L4D/L4D2, TF2, that stuff, I tend to be better off, because there's an older generation, I guess, that tends to be into it. Not a lot of 12 year olds have suped up gaming computers, but all kinds of 12 year olds can go out and buy an Xbox.

Do many people play steam here? We should totally all play tf2 or l4d2 together sometime.

for every person that says "flattering" things to me, i get 10 saying i need to take a dick up my ass and get back to the kitchen. NO THANKS.

no man is as vicious as women are to other women though. ran into these two girls last night on MW3 who were in a clan along with 4 men on their team and they heard women on the other team and went BALLISTIC, called us trannies, whores, fat, ugly, etc. they were relentless.

That's why I stopped playing multiplayer.

I only game with my friends. I will never game with strangers or people who I believe are douche bags.
So far, I haven't gotten any shit for being a girl.

But I've known plenty of girls who have to deal with that shit.

Some random in my guild was being really obnoxious and didn't gaf when I was like "yeah knock it off" and the poor fella didn't know I was a guild officer :(

he was really mad when I kicked him out

he kept sending me PMs calling me a whore and a slut and a bitch and I'm thinking "yeah THAT'LL get you back in" ... and then the guild leader invited him back in just to annoy me and I was like "HAHA FUUUUUUUUUU OK HE'S YOUR RESPONSIBILITY NOW" ... and the guy kept up with it

and then after a while I kicked him out again because stfu. and then he went and told his friend on me because his friend was an officer too.. like he went and called them or something and told them to log on. then the friend told me off without hearing the story first... then made with awkward apologies

although I was a bit standoffish. the conversation started something like "why do you keep kicking suchandsuch out of the guild?" "sorry, it's a glitch... my game keeps automatically kicking out annoying people" "i can't tell if you're serious or being a bitch"

Then a few days later I logged on, and the guy was back in the guild and started saying all these mean shit to me IN GUILD CHAT... and I'm like "are you sure this is how you want to start today"

and then the guild leader decided to annoy me more by telling the guy he could come back in the guild if he apologized to me and I'm like "WHY DID YOU DO THAT, NOW THEY'RE GOING TO MESSAGE ME." and he's all "I KNOW! MWAHAHAHAHA >:)" and the guy messaged me saying he was sorry, that he'd had me on ignore and thought that if you had someone on ignore that meant they couldn't see what you said either...


which... "sorry, you weren't meant to see that" isn't the best apology but ok...

and he was complaining to the guild leader that I'm not really a chick, just a rude guy with a small dick, and I said "THAT'S CALLED A CLITORIS"

i mean i know it's online multiplayer but i've had guys threaten to kill me and say they wanted to rape my face (lol ok) and piss down my throat

i remember a bunch of them got butthurt because i jokingly had "i wear heels bigger than your dick" but with a ! as the i in my profile and they ended up getting me suspended from xbox live for A WHOLE DAY OH THE HORROR

last time i played halo with my friend some 15 year old was like "who let the bitches play halo rofl lol i'm so funny"

sometimes you get the girls with internalized misogyny who pander to the gamer bros and that, i think, annoys me the most when they feel like everything has to be a competition with the other girls and it's just like I HAVE TO KILL THAT BITCH STUPID CUNT etc like ok?

I always play guy characters. Aion is completely free if anyone currs. I play cause it's preteh.

I love playing online. When I play MW3 i get friend requests a ton because i talk and I'm a decent player.

then when i don't accept it i get called a stuck up bitch.
