Pippa Middleton Faces Arrest for Gun Incident in Paris

Pippa Middleton could face jail time if prosecuted in a shocking new case involving a paparazzi photo taken in Paris on Saturday.

The 27-year-old socialite and entrepreneur, sister of Duchess Kate and sister-in-law of Prince William, was in the front passenger seat of an Audi convertible in the French capital as the driver pointed a semi-automatic handgun at photographers.
A witness in the gun-waving incident charged a formal complaint with Paris police; Middleton (plus her pal, fashion mogul Arthur de Soultrait, who was in the backseat of the car) will be summoned if authorities determine there is enough evidence for prosecution.

"If the evidence points to [Pippa Middleton's] involvement, she will be prosecuted," a judicial source told Us Weekly. "Anybody involved in the illegal use of a handgun in public is liable to arrest and interrogation."

If the pistol turns out to be real, the unidentified man waving the gun faces up to seven years in prison; even if the weapon is fake, he faces two years.

With heightened, anti-terrorist security measures currently in place in France, it is "absolutely forbidden" for anyone to use a gun to "warn people off" in the county, a police source explained to Us. "If someone has a license then for a weapon then it must be kept covered at all times, and away from members of the public."

Middleton, who became an international star almost exactly a year ago at her 30-year-old sister's royal wedding to Prince William, 29, was in Paris for Soultrait's 29th birthday bash on Friday.

yeah seriously. so much school shootings these days. damn
silentxstrom 16th-Apr-2012 03:28 pm (UTC)
yeah, it's so ridiculous that gun violence in school could easily be prevented or lessen with stricter gun control rules.

I've also heard that if a person with suicidal tendencies has access to a gun (parents have one in the house, whatever), they are much more likely to actually kill themselves, since shooting yourself ends up seeming like a quick way to do it.

There's this guy in my area who owns gun stores, he has the second amendment and a bald eagle engraved on a slab of concrete, on his front lawn.

Gun wank is seriously so annoying. You have people getting emotionally invested in the ability to kill people and the entire thing makes America into an international embarrassment.

omg a few weeks ago a friend left a facebook status that said something like "how is the fact that Zimmerman was in possession of a loaded firearm while stalking a 17 year old okay? this country." and some guy was like "SECOND AMENDMENT!" Like fuck you dude, your second amendment right should not trample on other people's rights TO LIVE.

you guys seem so fucking scared of each other, as if any day now someone is going to barge into your house and kill you
sekhmet2 16th-Apr-2012 04:20 pm (UTC)
I couldn't agree more. I get so made at so many of the people on my Facebook who are still living where I grew up and are all "IF I CAN'T HAVE MY GUNS IN THE BACK WINDOW OF MY PICKUP TRUCK, THIS COUNTRY IS GOIN' TO HELL!!!!". smh
shania_cares 16th-Apr-2012 04:40 pm (UTC)
Wasn't the second amendment created so the US could arm militia and have an armed opposition should the government forcibly trample on their rights? Like, I understand wanting to protect yourself, but really, most Americans can't even pick out China on a map. Do you really want these kind of people being able to so casually brandish a deadly weapon?

This SFM. You do not need a gun, get the fuck over yourself.
sweet_honesty 16th-Apr-2012 10:41 pm (UTC)
I agree.
browniecakemix 17th-Apr-2012 05:47 pm (UTC)
I agree, but the U.S. is weird, and it's a very large country with a lot of rural areas in which it could take the police over half an hour to get to you in an emergency. A lot of the gun extremists are just nuts, I warrant you, but after that "Grizzly Mama" thing a while back I understand why people in certain regions are so adamant about holding onto guns for protection.
