Max From The Wanted No Longer Enaged!
THE Wanted's Max George sparked rumours of a split with Michelle Keegan today when he told a US radio station he was NOT engaged.
During an interview with KIIS-FM presenters Ryan Seacrest and Ellen K, the hosts asked Max, 23, to confirm that he was engaged.
But the singer — who is on tour in America with the boyband — replied "No, no, no, not anymore" before the line went dead.
The presenters then discussed their confusion about whether they have been cut off on purpose, or the connection had simply dropped.
When the the pop star was back on the line, Ryan leadingly asked if Max was enjoying the benefits of being in a boyband, to which he replied: "Absolutely."
The station's Twitter feed also posted: "BREAKING: @MaxTheWanted from @thewantedmusic is not engaged anymore!
And it added fuel to rumours sparked by Corrie star Michelle being spotted out without her her engagement ring in recent weeks.
But earlier this month the 24-year-old insisted they will tie the knot eventually.
She told The Sun: “From day one we never set a date. We haven’t even talked weddings yet. It’s not a priority for us to get that sorted.
“We’ve only been together for a year and a few months. We like being a couple, so when we see each other we really enjoy it.
“People just want that next step. It’s like a soap opera to them, I suppose. But we’ve never done an interview together and we keep things private."
Yesterday Michelle cryptically tweeted: "There's some sly people in this world!"
But a spokesman for the couple said today: "Michelle and Max are still very much together as a couple but they are both traditionalists and realised that there is no point in being engaged until they are in a position to plan a wedding."
