I have a dilemma. My friend is getting married the first weekend of May. It was supposed to be in June, but had to get moved up a month and a half at the lastish minute.
I'm the maid of honor so I get the (now unfortunate) job of doing the bridal shower. I was planning on doing it in May once she was done with school, since that seemed easier than trying to figure out when she'd have exams and papers and everything.
Obviously that isn't going to work now. They set the new date last week. I tried to figure out when she'd want to do it before they had a date set but she said she "didn't care" because she didn't have a date so I dropped it. She was gone last weekend, and this weekend is Easter so she's not around to figure anything out.
The last weekend of April might be her bachelorette party, but then today she said her son has his first little league game that Sunday so I don't know if she's going to want to go away then which means it'd be the weekend before.
I have no idea when or wtf to do about the bridal shower. I'm going to try to talk to one of the other bridemaids on Monday to see if she has any ideas but until then...
Yeah, I think I'm going to have to. I wanted it to be kind of a surprisey thing, like let her know it was going to happen obviously but have her know exactly when. Oh well.
for more awesome area specific ideas/suggestions just use yelp and metromix to find suggestions of good places in your area! plus if you wanna save money there's this site called "poggled" that's pretty much like groupon but for bars/clubs/brunch/comedy shows/adult weekendy things BUT it's only in a few cities right now (in the US)
i personally think a nice show/comedy show/bar/club thing would be good and there's all sorts of places that actually offer bachelorette packages. Since it's so last minute I don't think it should be expected that you can have anything planned in detail /
My boyfriend has this thing, where his favorite characters always die first. Always. In movies, shows, books, games; even if it's the main character (who you think is safe) or someone you'd least expect.
I keep telling him he's screwed when the zombie apocalypse happens.
In elementary school, I was in an after school program and one of the helpers went to Blockbuster to rent a movie. I forget what movie it was but a horse was killed in it and this girl was crying and shaking so hard that we had to stop the movie.
Ugh, that's such a tough decision. I'm doing back to back school terms and I've had to pass up three trips so far (two to the Caribbean and one to Europe) and I'm so bitter about it.
