Kris Humphries tries to donate money to 'homeless' man, man actually just a hipster

KRIS Humphries may need some lessons on how to spot the difference between a homeless person and a hipster.

The 27-year-old Nets power forward, and former Mr. Kim Kardashian, was looking to spread the Easter goodwill around today when he offered money to a person he believed to be homeless.
Turns out they weren't.

"Just offered a homeless person money, but got rejected because it turns out they weren't homeless. Only in NY," Humphries tweeted today.

The tweet came as reports surfaced today that his former flame Kardashian had started dating hip-hop star Kanye West.

The reality star and West saw The Hunger Games together in New York yesterday before Kardashian was spotted leaving West's bachelor pad late the next morning, wearing the same outfit from the night before, TMZ reported.

Kardashian and Humphries began dating in October 2010. They married last August but she filed for divorce just 72 days later.

Despite continuing fallout from their split, Humphries will take some solace from the fact he has averaged 17 points and 11 rebounds over the past five games and has looked in career-best form ahead of tomorrow's matchup against the lowly Wizards.

jasmina12345 6th-Apr-2012 10:14 pm (UTC)

rockpaperspray 6th-Apr-2012 10:22 pm (UTC)

mutterby 6th-Apr-2012 10:27 pm (UTC)
Sometimes people buy coffee for homeless though, so the case is still out.
idreaminargyle 6th-Apr-2012 10:14 pm (UTC)
I HAVE MADE THIS MISTAKE BEFORE OK!!

-_-;

It's why I started donating to old homeless people instead. I also try to look for a urine smell for authenticity.
morrbido 6th-Apr-2012 10:20 pm (UTC)
-can you spare some change?
-come over here and let me sniff you first.

paranoidrabbit 6th-Apr-2012 10:17 pm (UTC)
Something like that happened to me once. It was a really nice day and I was out riding my bike to run errands, and rode over a nail. I was right by target, so I bought a new tube & stuff and was fixing my bike in the parking lot (gotta do what you gotta do) and this old lady came up to me, tried to give me $20 and told me that if I let Jesus into my life, things would improve and I'd find a job. It was so embarrassing.

:(
vaginasandwhich 6th-Apr-2012 10:25 pm (UTC)
LOL. did you take the money?
paranoidrabbit 6th-Apr-2012 10:32 pm (UTC)
I probably should have, but no lol. I just got really awkward and told her/stuttered that I had a job and wasn't homeless. I was so shocked and confused. I'm not a hipster, and I'm pretty sure I don't look homeless. Once I got my tire fixed I went home, cried, and called all my friends asking them if I dressed like a homeless person.
regi_veggie 6th-Apr-2012 10:25 pm (UTC)
should have taken the money!!
rhapsodeeinblue 6th-Apr-2012 10:43 pm (UTC)
lol oh no
discordaxis 6th-Apr-2012 11:15 pm (UTC)
Once I walked into a gas station after having just been to the gym. I was wearing sweats and this awful standard issue jacket from work, looking all bedraggled and toting a stuffed gym bag, and this woman followed me down the aisle and asked me in a hushed tone if I had a place to stay that night. When I said yes she gave me a disbelieving, "bless your brave soul" look and tried to hand me 5 bucks.
givemethepeasx 6th-Apr-2012 11:47 pm (UTC)
lmao dying@ this. at least you got a good story out of it!
shadyperfection 7th-Apr-2012 03:26 am (UTC)
I promise that you don't look homeless. People like that just look for any reason to promote Jesus. Something like that happened to me once too and it still freaks me out to think of it lol.
picklecookies 7th-Apr-2012 03:23 pm (UTC)
well, better that someone tried when you weren't, than people ignoring you when you were.

the bright side ;)
fullxcliphxc 6th-Apr-2012 10:17 pm (UTC)
i met a veteran in philly who dresses up as a homeless person a couple times a week to get extra money alongside his disability allowance
he said that he made about $30 bucks in 4 hours once
jessography 6th-Apr-2012 10:19 pm (UTC)
Hey, it's minimum wage. For doing nothing, really.
d00ditsemily 6th-Apr-2012 10:38 pm (UTC)
I read an article about a guy that was the richest in the city he lived in that panhandled a couple days a month and got a lot of money. This is one of the reasons why I can never give money, I always give food.
sprinklebell 6th-Apr-2012 10:38 pm (UTC)
which homeless guy is he?
fullxcliphxc 6th-Apr-2012 10:50 pm (UTC)
i met him near south and broad
noted 6th-Apr-2012 10:41 pm (UTC)
in one of my sociology classes in college one of the kids did his research project by doing that.

he pretended to be homeless for 2 months and made $5,000. he also met a man that pan handled as a career and made $260,000 a year. dayum.
rebeccamars 6th-Apr-2012 10:48 pm (UTC)
My brother use to work in a bank and some young guy would just pan handle out here in Los Angeles. He had $40,000 in savings.
curious_maya 6th-Apr-2012 11:03 pm (UTC)
That's why I give to Philabundance.
angelmonster 6th-Apr-2012 11:18 pm (UTC)
I have met this guy too. There is another one near reading terminal in a wheelchair that gets up and pushes his wheelchair home.
ms_cleos_tarots 6th-Apr-2012 11:31 pm (UTC)
I was at the SEPTA platform at Temple and a guy asked me for "train money" to Trenton. Told him no and the Trenton train came. I got off at 30th st. and the same guy asked me for money on the platform at 30th again...wtf.
_lackof_passion 6th-Apr-2012 11:32 pm (UTC)
there's one in kc on the plaza who does this. His wife drives an escalade. He's not a veteran or anything, he just doesnt want to work anymore and makes really good tax free money.
jmfunnyface 7th-Apr-2012 02:00 am (UTC)
Supposedly that's not that uncommon in Philly. My ex had a female friend from high school that would do that on the weekends if she was bored & wanted some extra cash.
foreverbeingnow 7th-Apr-2012 04:50 am (UTC)
my friend drove me to an outpatient surgery i had at Penn... said he was going to leave me at 30th st all drugged up to panhandle to "earn my keep back home"
i would have ended up on the R5 back to where i used to live I'd bet... across from thorndale train station. =( I miss living there. But I bet it was a mess the other day since that 77 year old lady got runned over by the train.
SADDDDD
but now I live in Phoenixville, and all we have are loud ass freight trains every couple hours. i miss septa. i have to go into university city on monday, taking the train from radnor, i hate that station, but its right by dialysis (more Penn...)
sorry for the tl;dr i'm sleepy lol

There's a guy in a wheel chair that asks for change at World Trade Center. He has a pair of those beats by dre headphones. They're like $300. I am so not giving him change when I have a pair of those $10 M&M headphones in my ears.
jessepinkman 6th-Apr-2012 10:17 pm (UTC)
