21. LORAS TYRELL (Finn Jones)



CHARACTER: Known as the Knight of Flowers, Ser Loras Tyrell is a highly skilled knight and jouster. His tournament successes, dazzling good looks, and ostentatious showmanship have made him a celebrated figure in the courts of the Seven Kingdoms. Despite his youth and slender frame, he is a capable warrior. He's also in a relationship with Renly Baratheon.

BACKGROUND: Finn Jones is a young British actor whose main bulk of experience comes from his role in the soap drama Hollyoaks, and its spin-off Hollyoaks Later. He also garnered a handful of appearances in other shows – Doctors, The Sarah Jane Adventures, and The Bill.

20. MATTHOS SEAWORTH (Kerr Logan)



CHARACTER: Matthos Seaworth is the third son of Ser Davos Seaworth. He serves on his father’s ship, Black Betha.

BACKGROUND: Kerr Logan is a young actor from Northern Ireland. He recently graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Game of Thrones is his first television appearance.



19. "GOLD CLOAK" (Sam Callis)



CHARACTER: officially credited as Gold Cloak, the speculation is that he will be taking on the role of Jacelyn Bywater. Bywater is a member of the City Watch that later gets promoted to Commander by Hand of the King, Tyrion Lannister.

BACKGROUND: Sam Callis trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He played Doctor Mike Banner in The Royal until he left in 2007 to join the cast of The Bill as Sergeant Callum Stone. He has made appearances in Holby City and Doctor Who. Callis has also acted in some films including Kidulthood, Trance, Capital Punishment, and Shrink.



18.  ALTON LANNISTER (Karl Davies)

CHARACTER: Alton Lannister is not a character from the Ice & Fire books. The speculation is he may be replacing the character of Cleos Frey from the books. Cleos has a Frey father and a Lannister mother. He is as a captive of Robb Stark, alongside his cousin Jaime Lannister.

BACKGROUND: Karl Davies was a soap star before starring on Game Of Thrones. He’s also starred opposite Stephen Fry in ITV drama Kingdom and also ventured into film with roles in Me And Her and Dolphins.



17. JORY CASSEL (Jamie Sives)



(OMG at last, someone we actually know!!!)

CHARACTER: Jory Cassel is the captain of the guards to House Stark. He is killed by Jaime Lannister while defending Lord Eddard Stark in King's Landing.

BACKGROUND: Jamie Sives has appeared in Get Him to the Greek and Clash of the Titans and as Captain Reynolds in the Doctor Who episode Tooth and Claw . He also appeared in The Passion alongside Joseph Mawle.



16. RAKHARO (Elyes Gabel)
(criminally low tbqh!!!!! >:c)



CHARACTER: Rakharo is a young Dothraki warrior that serves as a bodyguard to Daenerys Targaryen.

BACKGROUND: Elyes Gabel trained at Strodes College, the Oldham Theatre Workshop and the Northern Kids Theatre Company. He dropped out of drama school to play the part of the mummy Nuff, in the children’s television show, I Love Mummy. His big break came when he was cast in the BBC medical drama Casualty. After spending 6 seasons on Casualty, Gabel moved on and had a string of appearances on shows such as Dead Set, Waterloo Road, Apparitions and Identity.



15. BRONN (Jerome Flynn)



CHARACTER: Bronn is a low-born sellsword of great skill. He has a lean, wolfish appearance, a black sense of humor, and a pragmatic, thoroughly amoral philosophy. He befriends Tyrion Lannister in season one of Game of Thrones.

BACKGROUND: Jerome Flynn (born 1963) is an English actor best known for his role as Corporal Paddy Garvey of the King’s Fusiliers in the ITV series Soldier Soldier. He appeared as D.S Eddie Hargreaves for six episodes of the police drama Between the Lines (1992), and starred as Eddie Wallis in the comedy-drama Ain’t Misbehavin’ (1997). He Played Bobby Charlton in the 2000 film Best. Flynn as a singer had three UK number one hits with Robson Green (as Robson & Jerome) in 1995 and 1996. A recent television programme, So You Think You’re Royal?, established that through his mother he is a direct descendant of Oliver Cromwell.



14. THEON GREYJOY (Alfie Allen)

CHARACTER: Theon Greyjoy is the son and heir apparent of Balon Greyjoy. He was taken as a hostage and ward by Eddard Stark when he was around ten years old after Balon’s Rebellion and thereafter raised in Winterfell for ten years with the Stark children.

BACKGROUND: Alfie Owen-Allen was born in Hammersmith, London, the son of film producer Alison Owen and Welsh-born comedian Keith Allen. He went to St Johns College in Southsea, Portsmouth; and Fine Arts College, Hampstead where he studied for his A levels. Allen performed in a one-off Channel 4 comedy production, You Are Here in 1998, co-written by Matt Lucas and David Walliams. He has appeared in small roles in Elizabeth, produced by his mother, and Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London directed by his uncle Kevin Allen, and in the film Atonement.


 
13.  PETYR "LITTLEFINGER" BAELISH (Aiden Gillen)



CHARACTER: Lord Petyr Baelish, called “Littlefinger,” sits on the king’s council and is a master of court intrigue, . Though a lord, his holdings are possibly the smallest in all the Seven Kingdoms, situated on the smallest of the Fingers on the Eastern shore. Lord Baelish also runs a popular brothel in Kings Landing.

BACKGROUND: Aiden Gillen’s first major role came in a 1993 in the urban drama Safe, produced by and aired on the BBC. Aidan’s major breakthrough role was as sexually prolific Stuart Alan Jones in the 1999 British TV series Queer As Folk. He was cast with Patrick Stewart in the Broadway production of Pinter’s The Caretaker, which earned him a 2004 Tony Award Nomination. U.S. acclaim for his talent has also come for his role in HBO’s drama The Wire, where Gillen plays the city council member Tommy Carcetti. In February of 2009, Aidan was awarded an Irish Film and Television Award for his work on the show.



12. ROBB STARK (Richard Madden)

CHARACTER: Robb Stark is Eddard Stark’s eldest legitimate child, and the heir to Winterfell.

BACKGROUND: Richard Madden is a young actor who has done a lot of work in English theatre, including the role of Romeo in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, in 2009 he appeared in the British crime drama Hope Springs.



11. RENLY BARATHEON (Genthin Anthony)



CHARACTER: Renly Baratheon is the younger of Robert’s brothers, the Lord of Storm’s End, and Master of Laws on King Robert’s council.

BACKGROUND: Gethin Anthony is a young actor who studied at London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, and at Oxford University Dramatic Society. He is trained in stage combat, and received a scholarship to the British American Drama Academy in London.

10. EDDARD STARK (Sean Bean)

CHARACTER: Eddard Stark, Eddard, Ned, is the head of House Stark and Lord paramount of the North. He is a dedicated husband and father, a loyal friend and an honourable lord. He becomes Hand of the King to his lifelong friend Robert Baratheon when the previous hand dies in suspicious circumstances. He follows his predecessor's footsteps and uncovers an incestuous relationship between Queen Cersei Lannister and her brother Jaime Lannister. Robert dies after being injured while hunting and Eddard challenges the legitimacy of his successor Joffrey Baratheon. Eddard is betrayed by his political allies and arrested for treason. He confesses to the crime to protect his family.

BACKGROUND: Sean Bean is best known for playing Boromir in The Lord of the Rings trilogy and, previously, British Colonel Richard Sharpe in the ITV television series Sharpe. He is also known for his film work playing such roles as Alec Trevelyan in GoldenEye, Jason Locke in Essex Boys, Odysseus in Troy, Ian Howe in National Treasure and Andy McNab in Bravo Two Zero.

9. TYRION LANNISTER (Peter Dinklage)

CHARACTER: Tyrion Lannister is Tywin Lannister’s third child.  He is nicknamed “The Imp” and “Halfman.” Tyrion shares his father’s talent for political maneuvering, but no one in his family respects him because of his deformity. Tyrion is a fan favorite due to his sharp tongue. He can be very cruel when it comes to his enemies, but also has great sympathy for fellow outcasts and the mistreated.

BACKGROUND: Peter Dinklage is four feet five inches tall, and studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London and the Welsh School of Music and Drama in Wales. He worked in several off-Broadway productions and wrote his own play entitled Frog. He made his film debut in Tom DiCillo’s 1995 independent comedy Living in Oblivion as the dwarf in the dream sequence. He then appeared in Safe Men, Bullet, Never Again, and Just a Kiss before returning to independent comedies. He received Independent Spirit and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations for Best Actor for his performance in in Tom McCarthy’s The Station Agent. Last year he won the Golden Globe and Emmy awards for his portrayal of Tyrion Lannister.

8. QOTHO (Dar Salim)

(lol wut?  okay, I guess.)

CHARACTER: Qotho is a bloodrider to Khal Drogo. He is killed by Jorah Mormont after Drogo falls ill.

BACKGROUND: Dar Salim is a Danish actor who has played numerous roles in Scandinavian television series and movies.

7. VISERYS TARGARYEN (Harry Lloyd)

CHARACTER: Viserys Targaryen hopes to return to Westeros and reclaim his father's throne so he arranges the marriage of Daenerys to Khal Drogo, hoping to buy Drogo's armies with her, and to use them to reclaim the Seven Kingdoms. Viserys demanded Drogo's aid and verbally abused his sister. Drogo, considering Viserys rude and too dishonorable to be a king or ruler of any sort, kept giving him the runaround about what Viserys thought was owed to him, while Daenerys, imbued by her newfound power as Drogo's khaleesi, began to stand up for herself, refusing to let Viserys bully her. The final straw was when he drew a sword in the sacred city of Vaes Dothrak (where it was forbidden to carry weapons or spill blood) and threatened the life of his sister and Drogo's unborn baby unless he received the crown Drogo promised. Drogo responded by "crowning" him with molten gold, killing him.

BACKGROUND: Harry Lloyd played Will Scarlet in the first two seasons of the BBC drama Robin Hood before starring on Game Of Thrones.

6. KOVARRO (Steven Cole)

CHARACTER: Kovarro is not a character that appears in the books. However, we can deduce that he is likely a Dothraki character. The speculation is that he may be replacing Elyes Gabel’s Rakharo in season two.

BACKGROUND: Steven Cole is a British actor and model. He was born and raised in Liverpool and attended Calderstones School. In 1996, by chance, Cole had the opportunity to audition at Mersey TV to make his acting debut in Brookside. He has also appeared in Doctors and Merseybeat for the BBC.

KHAL DROGO

(Jason Mamoa)

CHARACTER: Drogo, or Khal Drogo, is a powerful warlord and feared warrior. He married Daenerys Targaryen and promises to retake the kingdom of Westeros for her after she survived an assassination attempt. He raided a Lhazareen village to take slaves to fund the planned invasion. He took a small wound during the raid of the village and was treated by the godswife Mirri Maz Duur. His wound festers and he becomes gravely unwell. Daenerys asks Duur to save him using blood magic but Duur uses a spell that leaves him in a vegetative state in revenge for the destruction of her village. Daenerys ends his suffering herself and burns Duur on his funeral pyre at the end of season one.

BACKGROUND: Jason Momoa is known for his role as Ronon Dex the sci/fi television series Stargate: Atlantis. After Game Of Thrones he went on to play the title character in the sword and sorcery film Conan the Barbarian.

CHARACTER: Jaqen H’ghar is a sly Lorathi criminal who meets Arya Stark on her way to the Wall.

BACKGROUND: A man is a German actor of film and television. A man is multi-lingual and speaks German, English, French, Russian and Italian. After making his debut at the age 23 in Peter Adam’s TV mini-series Wolkenstein in 1996, a man went on to appear in numerous films and TV shows in his native Germany. A man has also had a number of small roles in Hollywood films such as Enemy at the Gates, Munich, and Valkyrie. A man has appeared on British TV in the Doctor Who-spinoff series The Sarah Jane Adventures and the BBC mini-series The Deep.

JAIME LANNISTER

(Nikolaj Coster-Waldau)

CHARACTER: Jaime Lannister is the younger twin to Cersei, and son of Tywin and Joanna. He is also one of the most famous knights in all of Westeros. At fifteen, he became a knight and ascended to the elite Kingsguard, the members of which can neither hold lands nor marry. Two years after his induction, he murdered Mad King Aerys during the sack of King’s Landing, earning him the epithet “Kingslayer.” Though he shares his sister’s arrogance, amorality, and striking good looks, he is much more reckless and easily amused. He and Cersei have an incestuous relationship that produces all of her offspring.

BACKGROUND: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is a Danish actor who received his education at Statens Teaterskole in Copenhagen. His breakthrough in Danish film came with the 1994 hit Nattevagten (Nightwatch). He played Detective John Amsterdam on the Fox television series, New Amsterdam. He also recently appeared as Frank Pike in the Fox television film Virtuality.

JORAH MORMONT

(Iain Glen)

CHARACTER: Ser Jorah Mormont is an exiled knight. Mormont fled Westeros to escape execution for trading in slaves, and entered the service of the last Targaryens, Viserys and Daenerys.

BACKGROUND: Iain Glen was educated at the Edinburgh Academy and University of Aberdeen and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, England. After graduation he won the Bancroft medal, and appeared in many films such as: Gorillas in the Mist, Rosencratz and Guildenstern Are Dead, and Silent Scream. In 1998 he returned to stage to star opposite Nicole Kidman in The Blue Room,he stared in Beautiful Creatures, and Tomb Raider (2001) playing Angelina Jolie’s arch villain, Powell. Returning to stage, he was nominated for an Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Play for The Crucible in 2007. He also had a recurring role on the hit series Downton Abbey as Sir Richard Carlisle.

CHARACTER: Jon Snow is the claimed bastard son of Ned Stark. His mother is an unknown prostitute that Ned visited during a war -- SUPPOSEDLY. Jon is with the Night's Watch and lives at the huge ice Wall dividing Westeros from the wild lands to the far north.

BACKGROUND: Kit Harington went to the Central School of Speech and Drama, a constituent school of the University of London, in London, England, in 2008. His first role was as Albert Narracott in the Royal National Theatre’s London production of the play War Horse. He also appeared in the UK indie film Greys Inbetween. In 2010, he had a role in the Royal Court Theatre’s production Posh.
