I don't know why people were hating on Jared's baby's name. I think it's cute. Plus, Thomas Colton seems to compliment Jared Tristan anyway. Not everyone can be a Jermajesty or a Moxie Crimefighter :-X

I just started work this week and my boss called me in for a four hour shift, but I was asleep so I didn't get it. It's not like I would be able to work it because I have an appointment, but I don't know whether I should call her about it or just tell her thank you tomorrow when I go pick up my schedule.

First off -

A.) What happened to Cake Boss? It came on twice in Jan for the new season and just stopped.

B.)I'm watching Battle Royale right now. This is what THG as a book should have been.

I haven't - It was in our school library, but I graduated before someone returned it.

The Swedish runaway my family has been harboring since December left this morning. It was a big fuss, because my dad didn't want to help her go anywhere but out of the country - and is determined to report her, otherwise he'll be "breaking the law".

So she bought herself a bus ticket from here to Detroit, which is a 12+ hour ride, and then allegedly she's going into Canada. I just hope she takes care of herself, and doesn't get in too much shit with immigration. It was weird not having her around this morning.

She came over here in October, then the people who she was living with kicked her out, so my brother took her in. Her visa expired in January, we tried getting an extension, and 2 weeks ago they said she couldn't stay.

So I've been interviewing for internship positions (I start an MSW program in the fall)and yesterday I interviewed for a position with an inpatient psychiatric unit at a hospital in Chicago. The man who interviewed me told me he thought the interview went well and to get back to him if I was interested in the position. He also said that there are only two spots open but he has also interviewed two other people who have not yet gotten back to him about whether or not they want the position. My main interest lies within the criminal justice system, and I had a good interview two days with a program that provides substance abuse counseling to incarcerated males in the Cook County Jail. But working at the hospital would provide me with better clinical mental health experience, and it's also something I've never been exposed to so I decided I would accept that position.

HOWEVER. Later on in the afternoon I got a phone call from the US Probation Office (to whom I sent my info earlier in the week) and I scheduled an interview with them for two weeks from now. I did my senior undergraduate internship with a county juvenile probation office. I loved it and I was good at it, so the chance at intern with federal probation is something I just don't want to pass up. Internships with them are very competitive and they won't decide who they pick until the end of April. I can't wait til the end of April to accept the internship at the hospital because I'm sure the open positions will be filled by then, Would it be crappy of me to accept the position at the hospital but interview for the position with probation anyway? I just don't want to pass up the opportunity. I'm not sure I'd get it anyway and I don't want to be stuck without an internship at the end of April when most internship positions at other agencies have already been filled.
