Jared & Genevieve Padalecki welcome first son

>

Congratulations are in order! "Supernatural" stars Jared Padalecki and Genevieve Padalecki (née Cortese) have welcomed their first child. "It's a boy :)," Jared tweeted late Monday night. The baby was born in Seattle, just over the border from where Jared shoots "Supernatural" in Vancouver.

When he announced Genevieve's pregnancy via Twitter, Jared asked that instead of gifts, fan send donations to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. At press time, "Supernatural" fans have raised a total of $37,740 - a generous donation, which Jared and Genevieve have promised to match dollar-for-dollar.

Don't worry, "Supernatural" fans -- the little bundle of joy won't throw a wrench in your hopes for a Season 8. Though The CW has yet to announce a pickup, it's looking increasingly likely that we'll have another year of the Winchesters.

"Gen and I are both hoping for Season 8, actually," Jared told us in January. "With as many hours as we work, and as much as I travel back and forth, it's a crazy life, but on the flip side, we've built a family in Vancouver. Our crew, our cast -- we're close to everyone. We know what to expect. When I told them that Gen was pregnant and due in March, they were immediately like 'Okay, we're going to get you some time off.' I didn't even have to ask. You can't do that if you're doing some big movie with Tom Cruise."

Congrats on the unnamed baby moose! :)

spacemonkey_699 Continue with their crazy?20th-Mar-2012 02:03 pm (UTC)
Also I doubt Jared is in serious need of sleep. Or if so, more because of shooting SUpernatural as usual rather than holding the beard's hand 24/7 since she went in labor since I doubt she was physically in his vicinity when she went on labor.

A broken condom and a missed birth control pill? Yeah, he definitely got the ride on "my life is fucked" train.

I kinda feel a bit sorry for Jared, he's gonna have a whole lot of shit to have to put up with for the next few weeks. I can't imagine how stressful its gonna be for him, its gonna be the biggest acting role of his life.

Some of the more interesting tidbits I found there today

hahahah so sad
polaroidmoment Re: Continue with their crazy?20th-Mar-2012 02:05 pm (UTC)
omg, this is so sad. I totally made fun of this in a comment below, but why can't they just be happy about it? I don't understand the crazy!
hobnailedboots Re: Continue with their crazy?20th-Mar-2012 02:10 pm (UTC)
I actually think Jensens[sic] in for a worse ride, judging by the looks of him this weekend his time would have been better spent, resting up for the long push coming his way.[I don't even know what this sentence means. lol.] Wonder how long Gen was in labor, might explain a little about Ackles less than over the moon look at that show j/s! [wut.] And really if one ignores the obvious trolling wank baiting, it's shouldn't really effect [sic] us much, personally I think the birth of this child is the begging [sic] of the end of the Jared and Genevieve.

How can anyone be so delusional?

theavenue Re: Continue with their crazy?20th-Mar-2012 02:12 pm (UTC)
wait, people actually write this stuff? and they're being serious? what in the hell ... like, i know fic exists and everything, but i didn't think people legit think jared and jenson are actually a thing.
nuclearsex 20th-Mar-2012 02:42 pm (UTC)
OMFG I CAN'T WAIT.
they're already convinced that it's all a ploy to make jared and gen's marriage more believable.
you know, because jared and jensen are in hot gay love together and gen and danneel are just beards. yup.
solitune 20th-Mar-2012 01:59 pm (UTC)
Congrats to them but ewww at this sentence:

Don't worry, "Supernatural" fans -- the little bundle of joy won't throw a wrench in your hopes for a Season 8.

That's fantastic! And the donation is really impressive - it's wonderful that they're matching it, as well.

And spn_gossip is imploding. Today is a glorious day.
polaroidmoment 20th-Mar-2012 02:04 pm (UTC)
ah yes, an SPN fan I work with already tweeted her congratulations... I'm sure they care deeply.
vehiclesshockme 20th-Mar-2012 02:05 pm (UTC)
You could say that about anything anyone says on Twitter to be honest.

Oh, you bought shoes, good for you. Oh I'm really sure Josh Hutcherson cares you pre-ordered Hunger Games tickets. etc. etc.
polaroidmoment 20th-Mar-2012 02:07 pm (UTC)
hah, true that. I just find it weird when non-celebrities are like "OMG FAMOUS PEOPLE WHO JUST HAD A BABY CONGRATULATIONS! I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!". But I just saw someone else post some rude shit from tumblr from SPN fans so I guess it's better to congratulate than hate.
ahkna 20th-Mar-2012 02:10 pm (UTC)

What do you think they'll call him? What would you/did you call your own children?

britt_m_89 Re: Baby name questions!20th-Mar-2012 02:08 pm (UTC)
I love the boy names Benjamin, Nolan, and Gabriel. For a girl I really have no idea.
hobnailedboots Re: Baby name questions!20th-Mar-2012 02:13 pm (UTC)
If I were a boy I would have been named Gabriel! I quite like Gabrielle as a girl's name, incidentally.
nerdwegian Re: Baby name questions!20th-Mar-2012 02:45 pm (UTC)
My 7-month old is Benjamin. :)
_boppo_ Re: Baby name questions!20th-Mar-2012 03:01 pm (UTC)
Gabriel is a really nice name.
adaptation Re: Baby name questions!20th-Mar-2012 04:05 pm (UTC)
I can just imagine the fan reaction if they named the baby 'after' a character from the show, like Gabriel.
vehiclesshockme Re: Baby name questions!20th-Mar-2012 02:09 pm (UTC)
They said they weren't even going to talk about it at all until they knew him for a few days to figure out what was right (which is similar to how Jensen was named actually).

Somehow all my girl names are songs and my boy names are nerdy.
rlmoonyk Re: Baby name questions!20th-Mar-2012 02:12 pm (UTC)
For boys I like Sebastian, Thaddeus, Alexander or Easton
Girls-Charlotte, Persephone, Madeline, Emmaline
sylarsexypants Re: Baby name questions!20th-Mar-2012 02:28 pm (UTC)
Right now I'm really feeling Ruby and Bernadette for girls names. Or Margareta or Nina after my grandmother. I really like the name Arya too

Boy names? I've never really picked out and settled on boy names.
imsodazzled Re: Baby name questions!20th-Mar-2012 02:30 pm (UTC)
Well, my son's name is Sam but I bet they don't go with that, lol.
rustlemybustle Re: Baby name questions!20th-Mar-2012 02:35 pm (UTC)
My best friend wants me to name her baby. At first I was touched but now I'm terrified since she and her SO won't give me a hand outside of nixing ideas they don't like (which I've got are boring/traditional names like Claire, Edward, Alex ect.) and saying 'anything that isn't Rodney is fine'. WHY COULDN'T YOU JUST GIVE THE BABY MY MIDDLE NAME THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN WONDERFUL.

They've only just started trying, but the women in her family get pregnant fast and I'm worried. If it's a girl I've got it down- I'm naming her after her mother since it's a hereditary name and there's no way I'm being the combo breaker after 4 generations, but all the boys names I love will absolutely get the kid beaten up at school. (Beau, Aubrey, Teddy). FUCK!
rimbaudacious Re: Baby name questions!20th-Mar-2012 02:39 pm (UTC)
Personally I've always loved the name Judah. Should I miraculously overcome my dislike of children and have a son, that'd be my pick.
cigarettelover Re: Baby name questions!20th-Mar-2012 02:41 pm (UTC)
I am praying to god they name the kid Jensen or Dean just to see the shitstorm on spn_gossip lol.
vatulele Re: Baby name questions!20th-Mar-2012 02:51 pm (UTC)
They'll probably call the little moose something simple and cute.

As for my own kids, if I have a boy I'd really like to have his middle name be Manuel or Manny after my Grandpa.

chaquitalicia04 Re: Baby name questions!20th-Mar-2012 03:07 pm (UTC)
Blake & Noah for boys. Marleigh Rose for a girl.
danne_gerous Re: Baby name questions!20th-Mar-2012 03:25 pm (UTC)
If I ever have a son, his name will be Fox.

Other boy names I like: Pascal, Amos, Ezra, August, Henry, Luca, Dante, Omri, Hugo, Olan, Felix, Jude, Errol and Gale, Dean, and Ky which are family names I would use.

Girl names: Antonia, Lux, Thora, Margot, Helena, Freja, Hallie, Vada, Tasmin, Saffron, Maeve, Jane. Iona, Ruth, and Lucille are family names I like.

I loved Arrested Development and I actually really love the name Maeby, I'm weird I know. I also like Riley and Spencer for a girl or a boy and Addison for a girl.
sapporonoodles Re: Baby name questions!20th-Mar-2012 04:13 pm (UTC)
my bf's last name is 'dean' so we've decided that if we ever have a boy together, his name will be 'james danger dean'

and then we can be like, JAMES YOU DON'T NEED A CAUSE TO BE A REBEL!!

but besides that, i love the names 'rowan' and 'graham' for a boy, and 'ramona' for a girl.
sastra_fuss Re: Baby name questions!20th-Mar-2012 04:34 pm (UTC)
Boy or girl, my called is getting "the sequel" added to the end of my name or father's name
tothechangmin Re: Baby name questions!20th-Mar-2012 04:36 pm (UTC)
a few years back i was really into 'j' names - james, jessica, jasmine etc, but now i find myself really fancying unisex names: andy, alex, morgan, and so on.

For my maybe-future kids, I've got their first names/middle names sorta picked out already

Brandon Tyler
Nicole Gabrielle (Nicole Alexis, Autumn Nicole...or something with Nicole as her first or middle name)
Nicholas Scott or Lucas Scott
shadwrayvn Re: Baby name questions!20th-Mar-2012 06:43 pm (UTC)
Got no clue as to what they will name him.

Boys names I like are Amon, Isaias, Senon, Gabriel, & Ezequiel

Girl names I like are Siobhan, Anahi, Xiamara, Valeria, & Serenity
radiantlight Re: Baby name questions!20th-Mar-2012 08:31 pm (UTC)
I won't ever have children (don't think I'll ever adopt, not exactly easy or cheap) but I did end up getting to pick what my niece's name will be.

They wanted Nevaeh. I fucking stomped that shit to the ground. They asked me for a name - and even though Ella is really popular, I thought it would be cute since her sister's name is Ava. So, she has me to thank for her name :p

rivieracacharel Re: Baby name questions!21st-Mar-2012 07:10 pm (UTC)
i have know idea what they'll name their son but i think it will a regular name. i don't see them going for anything outlandish.

as for my favorite baby names:

girl: delphine,vienna,sage,veridiana,fenn,olivia,rosamund,blythe,
franciane, odile, millagros, canalis(a surname but i feel it would be a pretty 1ste name too)

Boy:
harlin,quinn,alastair,Isley,Ephraim,senna,francisco

the girls will have 3 names and boys would have 2 names
simply because i have way more girls names that i like then boys names.

Boy: Xander (Alexander)
Girl: Idris

Did they specifically go over the border so their kid wasn't born in Canada?
vehiclesshockme 20th-Mar-2012 02:14 pm (UTC)
Yeah. They had talked about wanting the baby to be born in the US.
ahkna 20th-Mar-2012 02:18 pm (UTC)
Makes sense. I would want my kid to be born in my country, even if I worked in a different one.
x_butterfly19_x 20th-Mar-2012 02:22 pm (UTC)
Would it have made a difference, paperwork wise or was it just something they wanted to do?
emtqueen85 20th-Mar-2012 02:39 pm (UTC)
But wouldn't the kid get dual citizenship if he were born in Canada? His parents are American so he automatically gets U.S. citizenship no matter where he was born via jus sanguinis. I don't know if Canada has jus soli citizenship law.
chaquitalicia04 20th-Mar-2012 03:10 pm (UTC)
I'm am picturing it being like the episode of 30 Rock where Jack & Avery were trying to cross the border because they wanted to make sure Liddy would be able to be president.
