Nah, I prefer Alien because it's more of a horror film. Aliens is an action film with some tense sequences. I'll always prefer the tone and atmosphere of Alien.
I hate what Aliens did to Ripley's character, making her some sort of surrogate mother/actual mother even though that was not at all in Alien. It totally demolished so much of the strong female character that was established in the the first movie, that did not follow traditional gender roles.
Alien had so much thematically with gender and sex and power, they didn't need to go that route. It was a cop out
These trailers made me curious and I downloaded Alien today, watched it and only after I finished the movie I found out that it was actually Aliens, the sequel lol @ my reading skills
I love how in Sunshine they named the first ship Icarus on the trip to the sun, and when it disappeared, they named the second one Icarus II! I was like "Way to seal the deal for this one, idiots."

2012 is going to be a good year fro scifi blockbusters
but fuck, the cast is perfection.
