Kirk Cameron Invites Rosie O'Donnell to Dinner
Never one to mince words, Rosie O’Donnell remained silent regarding the Kirk Cameron antigay controversy until several days after the former Growing Pains’ star’s appearance on Piers Morgan’s show. When Rosie did respond to Kirk’s comments she called his blaming LGBTs for the downfall of society very “un-Christlike.”
Now, Kirk has responded by inviting Rosie to dinner, she announced on The Rosie Show Online Wednesday.
“I got an email from Kirk Cameron. I invited him to come on the show…” Rosie said. “But he’s busy and he’s got a lot to do, but he wants to have dinner.”
Rosie added that perhaps dinner rather than TV is a better venue to start a conversation with Kirk. “I just don’t want it to be biblical ping-pong, you know?” Rosie said. “Sometimes when you talk to somebody who has a very, very rigid view of what they think is right and wrong it’s almost like they they’re more right because they’ve memorized stuff in the bible.”
In the end Rosie thanked Kirk for writing and jokingly sang a refrain from “Kumbaya.” “This is how fences get mended,” she said. “This is how people come together.”

"This is how people come together.”
Except its not. He speaks out against equal rights. Period. If you did have dinner with him,he'd make an example of you and the things you say,on one of his Way of the Master episodes. Dont be fooled into thinking these people want to compromise and be civil. Thats not realistic.
Besides, regardless of how unlikely it is, you NEVER know who/what can change someone's mind. I like to think that any person's view can be changed through the right experience. For some people, that experience is a lot more illusive than others, but still.
