On a semi-related note, yesterday I went to buy a Nook Tablet @ Barnes & Noble for my bday and happened to get 2 Advanced Screening tix for this movie in the bargain as part of a BN promotion!!! \o/ (Sorry, had to share).

Yeah, super disappointed they aged the bread scene. It doesn't have the same impact when he's looking older and fit as it did thinking this tiny little boy faced the wrath of his crazy mother in order to feed Katniss.
exactly--i thought the entire point was that katniss was only 11 when her father died, and still a year or so away from being able to sign up for the tessarae to get extra grain and oil. if she was 16, why would she need sit mournfully in the rain starving if she'd already gotten the tessarae?
i get why a lot of people are upset with this, but idk, i think it'd be weird if they used kids for the scene cause the age difference is supposed to only be, what, 4 years? i think the kids would look too different from jennifer and josh
While I do admit they could of done better in some aspects (Kinda wish the Capitol looked more futuristic than tacky hot mess 80s couture) comments like that are pretty much a broken record at this point and are really annoying, especially if said 57479 million times every HG post.
We get it. You think it looks cheap. Honestly, I get the feeling that they put more effort in the arena (which we haven't seen much of) than anything else.
just finished the first book so i could finally understand these posts. it was very um, underwhelming. not sure if i should read the second & third. does it pick up?
I've not read the third yet. The second book is a bit better. It's one of those cases where you'd have to get over the mediocre writing to enjoy the plot. Or the concept, rather.
but the scene with her and Lenny was more awkward, imo. I felt awkward watching it haha
