They had just bowled over thousands of fans at New York’s Radio City Hall – but somehow One Direction ended up in trouble.
The lads were left feeling like turkeys after a late-night bust-up in a bowling alley just hours after their gig.
Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson got a stern ticking-off from record label Syco after their post-gig celebrations got out of hand.
They had been hurling three bowling balls at a time down a lane – and ended up smashing the machinery.
Louis told me: “The whole thing came off its hinges. It totally broke. We got a slap on the hand and were told off by the label for that.
“We’d taken over a lane, played about two games and then got a bit bored.
"So we started an experiment, throwing two or three balls at the same time.”
Harry joked: “It was really bad but quite funny – but no one else thought so.”
That includes the bowling alley owners who had to call out an engineer.
1D – including Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Liam Payne – were on top form for the NYC show on their sell-out US tour, which has seen pandemonium break out everywhere they’ve gone.
The lads, who have secured a slot on Saturday Night Live, were stuck in their tour bus for half an hour after the Radio City gig as 120 baying fans clambered on its roof.
Talking about the gig, Harry said: “It was definitely the loudest place we’ve ever played, the noise levels were incredible.”
