Kirk Cameron on abortion: "I think that it's wrong, under any circumstances"

On Friday night, actor and evangelist Kirk Cameron joined Piers Morgan for a remarkably honest interview on faith, family, and social issues.

The former star of television's "Growing Pains," Cameron is now a Born Again Christian with strong beliefs on abortion:

"I think that it's wrong, under any circumstances," shares Cameron on "Piers Morgan Tonight." "I think that someone who is ultimately willing to murder a child, even to fix another tragic and devastating situation – like rape or incest or things like that – is not taking the moral highroad."

As the discussion continues, the 41-year-old father of six explains supporting a pregnant daughter, when conception was a result of rape:

"I love my daughter, I love that little child. This is a little creature made in God's image," says Cameron. "I value life above all things."

Watch the clip, and listen to the interview, as the former "Growing Pains" star details his feelings on value systems and moral behavior.

yeah. i live in the south and it's hard not to have some of these people in your life. i befriended this girl about 2 years ago and we get along ridiculously well. recently, she changed her photo to a pic of her holding a sign that says "i am from the pro-life generation" and i was like girl noooooo.

Yea I have a couple friends who are staunch republicans and post Rick Saantorumania crap and pro-life stuff all the time and the shit they say makes me wanna shake them but outside of all that we share a lot of the same interests.

mte :( i have met some great friends who were very conservative in the south. i just try not to talk about it. luckily ive never had any of them who were homophobic though.
legenxxdary 11th-Mar-2012 03:56 am (UTC)
yeah i rarely come across people who are really homophobic. their parents/grandparents are a different story though. :(

Did you hear about the girl who was president of UT republicans and made a joke about killing Obama on Twitter? I'm not sure how big that story got.
Anyway, I was friends with her in hs. I know exactly what you mean

LOL I remember that!! It was a pretty big story down here for a while. Now the latest scandal was something about these two running mates suing the University because...idk, something to do with student government elections.

And there you have it, folks: the future leaders of our society.

Yeah and it's even harder to bite your tongue when you have FAMILY in the south.
legenxxdary 11th-Mar-2012 04:01 am (UTC)
oh yes. most of my family down here is really conservative. family dinners are the worst!

it's weird but both my mom and grandma were democrats in their younger days but they shifted their views once they got married. they're pretty open minded people and i wish they wouldn't have buckled under whatever kind of pressure they were under. i don't even confront them about it though.

I feel your pain. Facebook has taught me that a good number of people I grew up with/love are completely batshit.

Vomit. Thankfully most Millenials and Gen-X'ers are pro-choice.

I'm the annoying person who always comments on it. Well, not always, but if a friend of mine says somethign fucked up, damn right I'm going to let them have it.
