BTW is "pretentious" Gaga thinks NME is pretentious




UK mag NME have declared her latest album to be the most pretentious in history - but Lady Gaga reckons the joke is on them.

The rock magazine called Gaga's Born This Way the 'Most Pretentious Album Ever' in a recent blog post, leaving the kooky singer's Kermit suit in a twist.

Oh the irony of winning "Most Pretentious Album Ever" from none other than NME. *eyeroll* I might laugh forever + then return to narcissism

Gaga's anthemic set beat out albums by Lou Reed, Metallica and Kiss for the top spot in their "10 Most Pretentious Albums Ever" list.

"For a while Gaga was the most exciting pop star on the planet," read the blog.

"Then on Born This Way she seemed to believe in her own hype, convinced that she had a message to share. Cue an album of unwieldy 'anthems' that couldn’t mask the fact the fun had left the building."

Gaga is also up for 'Villain Of The Year' and 'Worst Album' for Born This Way at the NME Awards next week - do you think they're being a bit hard on her?

Love Heavy Metal Lover! I did not like any of the singles she decided to release, except maybe Edge of Glory.

The Fame Monster is amazing. if she makes more music like that, she's gravy imo.

btw I know everyone says this to you but I love that Shawn icon of yours. best Boy Meets World episode ever tbh.

OMG I remember that one! That was a good one. Also the plays with squirrels episode. That one was amazing.

TBH, That whole show was amazing, I could go on about it forever.

ikr? i was so attracted to Shawn as a kid and that definitely kept me watching, but it was so much more than that. it was just so genuinely funny and fun.

1 of the reasons it is not a commercial success imo is b/c every1 was v divided about what songs they liked. thats whut i noticed when i'd go into posts. sum ppl wuld be like, "i like x,y,z songs" and then others wuld be like "NO THOSE R GODAWFUL, only i,k,j songs r qt!!!" so none of her singles were universally appealing 2 all fans

IA, the album was all over the place.

I am not a huge gaga fan, but I appreciate what she does, so I never really listened to what people said about the songs.

accurate. this is why none of the singles performed well (although the single choices were definitely underwhelming)

i thought the whole album was good minus two or three tracks. but then again, i like when pop artists get experimental and try different sounds. i mean, you don't hear anything like schessie or government hooker being done by anyone else in her genre

the album was good. I liked it. it was fun and cool. I just think it was promoted and marketed wrong. It all got tired very fast.
