I was reluctant to read them at first, but I finally caved when I saw the kindle version of the series for SUPER cheap. I read all 3 books in 4 days and could not put them down. Definitely worth it!
I read the first book and was too impatient to get the next two that I just downloaded the kindle version and read them each in a day using the free kindle app.
I am actually pretty excited about the movie, and tbh I really didn't like the books. The first one was pretty okay (the actual Games were good; Collins can write action but I think her characterization is awful), but it went fast downhill from there and I really didn't like Katniss or Peeta at all.
Unfortunately I agree. I don't think their budget was too big though. The profits look good considering how many presale tickets were sold, so I'm hoping they'll splurge for the next few movies.
i feel like the movie is gonna do well though, so they should have gave it a bigger budget :| are the next movies like already contracted to happen? even more a reason for a bigger budget if they are, since that means they already guessed it would be successful too.
IA, it also looks like it's trying to appeal to the Twilight crowd when the storyline has the potential to attract slightly older demographic. If they have to kill each other, you know they're going to tame it down A LOT for the Twilight fanbase
So what's this series about? My sister is reading the books, and she isn't the type of person to read a book often, and tells me that it's basically the shit.
north america is now panem, it's split into 12 districts. there's this thing called the Hunger Games which requires 2 people ages 12-17/18 idr rn, from each district, to go to the capitol and fight until 1 person wins. we're focused on katniss and her journey of survival and change and etc.
i think the pink is District 1. The Grecian-looking ones.. maybe District 6: Transportation (the wings?). Unless these are all in order of district then just ignore me >_>
