Does anyone else here really enjoy short stories? I love them. I'd really appreciate some recommendations on your favorite short story authors, if you have any.
Personally I've really enjoyed David Sedaris' short stories (particularly Me Talk Pretty One Day) and Kurt Vonnegut's Look at the Birder. While Mortals Sleep was good too.

so i witnessed a multiple collision car crash about an hour ago. some guy took out his phone to take pictures. i took my phone out and was about to call 911 when i noticed someone else already was.
would you take pictures if you witnessed a car crash? and what if i hadnt noticed someone already calling 911, is it bad if multiple people call 911 for the same accident?
I'm not sure, but I'd say it's probably not bad if they get repeat calls for the same accident. It's better if too many people call than no one, like the bystander effect. Unless you're with the person, I guess you can't be sure someone else is reporting the accident as well.
dont worry, the person was right in front of me making the call so i knew. but damn at the bystander effect. i suppose i was somewhat in a bystander effect situation when a guy shoved the guy in front of me to the ground when i was walking across the street the other week. but he was twice my size and i thought he was gonna hurt me too since he looked me in the eyes and smiled at me. injury just seems to follow me lately...
i always call if i witness something and always something like "not sure if you have already been notified, but..." because i figure if it were ME, id want 5 or 6 people calling rather than everyone ASSUMING someone else called, you know what i mean?
and even when they have HAD received a call about it, the operator always has said thank you for calling, we apprecaite it...
Yeah... That would make more sense. I wanted to mention certain commonalities that exist among the East Asian cultures which would be handy to know for counseling, but if my specific focus is on Chinese victims, then I'll just go with that title.
yeah, it started off rocky, but my oft-mentioned tutor has made it a lot better, and it's coming to me so much easier lol. I think I did well on the test, so it's killing me what my score is.
