Beyonce’s Weight Loss Plan Should Make Moms Feel Better, Not Worse

Six weeks after giving birth to baby Blue Ivy, Beyonce is focused on dropping her 40 lbs of baby weight. And let’s just say she’s not exactly lazing around eating bonbons. In fact, Beyonce is working her ass off (literally!) with intense, four-hour-a-day workouts and an equally rigid diet.

Hollywoodlife.com reports that Bey is waking up at an ungodly 5 a.m. to get in her first workout of the day. (When you have a newborn, that’s no small feat.) And apparently her trainer Marco Borges has moved into the family home to lead her daily workouts, which includes a two-hour workout first thing in the morning and then again at 5 p.m. “They do a mix of cardio, Pilates, plyometrics, yoga and, of course, dance,” a source told Hollywoodlife.com.



On the food front, Beyonce is eating six small, high-protein meals a day, such as egg-white omelets and protein shakes. And, according to the source, Beyonce is already seeing progress: She has so far lost 14 lbs and hopes to reach 128 by early March. (She weighed 170 at the height of her pregnancy.)

Wow, it took me a good 3 years to drop 5 dress sizes. But that probably a good thing, it stayed off for almost 6 years now apart from the last size that I went a bit mad in loosing. Trying to see if I can get it off in a sustainable way but no biggie if I don't, I just want to improve my fitness and health now. ^_^

well it's probably not but after i work out i'm hot and sweaty and tired and i want to die and i don't feel happy at all. buuuut i still do it.

Yes, I don't always feel like going but during/after a work-out I feel so energised and strong. It's also nice to zone out for an hour and just revel in the physical.

i like workout classes like zumba or good old fashioned step aerobics, and i like jogging outside, but like i can't just run on a treadmill or whatever because i get so bored. it sucks because workout classes at my apartment complex gym cost $$$ and i live in ohio so the weather is bad like half the year >__>

Sometimes it's fun, sometimes I reeeeally don't want to do it but I force myself anyway because I know I'll feel more accomplished when it's done. idk, it's different on different days, I guess. Sometimes I find it so easy to go through multiple workouts and other days I'm like "uuuuuugh, noooooo, I don't want toooooooo..." I wish I knew why!

I've caught shit for it but I do an EC (ephedrine/caffeine) stack. It gives you ridiculous energy, curbs your appetite and has a thermogenic effect. Our country got ridiculous about ephedra/ephedrine because of people who took excessive amounts but there are plenty of studies that have proven that it's effective in therapeutic doses and scientist have/had been urging the medical community to consider it for ages. I take three doses a day and I've been doing it off and on for about three months. I've lost 30 lbs. and kept it off even when I went off the stack and stopped exercising for awhile.

Before: breakfast or a piece of fruit depending on what i'm doing as a workout
After: nonfat plain greek yogurt with jam or granola and some fruit or an apple and peanut butter

My fitness regime consists of Roller derby/roller skating. But since I have a busted rib rn, I'm so pissed that I can't keep up my fitness.

Even ~gentle~ cardio like snowshoeing makes my ribs ache. Breathing deep still hurts, two weeks in.

/pissed that I'm off skates for 6 weeks

My quads and butt were looking pretty on-point right before I picked up this injury.

I had been skating hard for about 3 months and had finally started to feel like I'm ~back in fitness~.

Now I have to take a month and a half off. I'm so pressed, tbh.

Roller derby FOR LIFE. My high school has a team, and while its tiny, and the local team is crap, I love it. Its the best sport ever. I feel like I'm going to die, but it would be a good way to go

Most women also don't have trainers who can train them for 2 hours a day and seven days a week, so this is all suspect imo.

I can't ever remember being in the 100s it's like one minute I'm a 70lb kid and then bam I grow a foot and five inches have hips, boobs and weigh about 160.

i can't imagine working out that much. two of my sisters never really lost their baby weight - my other sister is close, but my nephew just turned 4.

I've started enjoying my workouts so much lately, which is a nice change. If I had more free time I could easily spend 3 hours a day at my fancy, pretty gym and be happy about it.

But 4 hours a day with a new baby seems a bit unrealistic, idk.

lol jfc. I only just got a yoga DVD from the library and some moves are pretty tough and I can't imagine doing them in a 40˚C room D: D: D: I was already slipping in some moves and I randomly thought "I wonder if they make you do half moon pose in hot yoga... i would break my face."

I just started hot yoga and god it is SO hot. However I feel freaking awesome afterwards so I'll probably stick with it. My teacher says eventually you get "a little" used to the heat...not sure that'll ever be true

techno music. I'd recommend Dada Life's free monthly mixtape podcast because mixtapes are prime for working out. You don't have to fumble with your ipod to change songs.
