i refused to look at the photo, but i'm disgusted that this has been made public. some people have no limits as to how low they'll go.

It's bad enough it's on the internet...but on front of the NE? Are they putting these in the grocery store? Are they going to be by the checkout counter?

I mean, if I was checking out with my bread and milk and looked over and saw a dead body on the front of a tab, I'd probably throw up.

I remember going to my step-great grandfather's funeral (who I literally had never met before, so there was no emotional attachment or anything) when I was maybe like 6 or something and FREAKING OUT just from seeing the open casket across the room...

it was not okay.

luckily that's the only funeral I've been to where they had one.

Seeing my sister in an open coffin destroyed me. I get flashbacks sometimes. It's the absolute worst ever. I pray you never experience it bb.

but wow do i hate wakes....i know a lot of people like closure, but i'd rather have my last memory of a loved one of them being alive rather than seeing their dead body in a coffin. i mean, it's not them anymore, it's just their body. and to me seeing their souless body is just weird to me, i don't want to see a loved one's body without their soul. it's just not them.

This is exactly how I feel! You put it into words very well.

The idea of being able to see a loved one without them actually being there, knowing you will never see or hear from them again, sounds like hell.

yeah, i've been to a few wakes in my life and it makes me so uneasy to see the body. a few years ago my grandma died but there wasn't a body present at the wake, just a bunch of photos of her and flowers and stuff and i liked it so much more. it felt more like a proper memorial service, where the other wakes i've been to are too eerie for me. :(

Postmortem pics are so interesting to me. Those people were so comfortable with death because it was common.

That is the creepiest thing I have ever seen and it will haunt me for the rest of my life. Just like the pictures of box boy. The kid that was found badly beaten inside of a box on the side of the road. When his case went cold, detectives dressed him up in contemporary clothing and released the photos to the public.

wait... a lot of the pictures have more than 1 kid posing... are BOTH of them dead??? Their eyes are open.... and they look so... lifelike. Excuse my ignorance :/ This is fascinating and disturbing at the same time
