'It was completely terrifying': Police and army escort not enough to keep fans at bay as One Direction are mobbed by thousands in Paris

Fans have described 'terrifying' scenes in Paris today as One Direction were mobbed by thousands of screaming teenage girls.
Even a police and army escort was not enough to keep Liam Payne from losing a shoe in the fracas.
But the boys took to Twitter it was 'all cool' and thank fans for turning out to see them at the Gare Du Nord train station.
The group's followers immediately took to the social networking site in support of the band after they were set upon, after arriving on the Eurostar from St Pancras, in London.
The hashtag #AllDirectionersTogether quickly started trending worldwide with many at the way in which the group were greeted.
Fan videos posted to YouTube show the group holding onto several bodyguards for dear life as they make their way through the crowd.
French police and soldiers were also on hand inside the station to keep excited fans at bay, clearing a passage for the boys tom walk through.
Niall Horan reassured his fans after the incident, writing: 'All directioners united..everyone stick together! we're all in this together.. wohoo.
'These things happen..part of what its about..it was really cool today in paris, and as directioners always do ..come out in hundreds.."
'If i ever look nervous..its coz i hate tight spaces..but dont worry , its all cool on my ends.'
Harry Styles wrote: 'Hahaha Liam lost his shoe in the station. That was crazy!! Thanks for coming to see us.'
And Zayn Malik added: 'Had a sick day in France today. The fans were #crazy! Thanks to everyone who came to say hi :) x.'
One fan wrote earlier: 'What happened today at Gare du Nord in Paris was completely terrifying. One Direction are medically okay though
Another said: 'I Doubt One Direction Will Be Going Back To France Anytime soon..
The boys, along with the remaining member Louis Tomlinson, will attend the BRIT Awards tomorrow, with their song What Makes You Beautiful nominated for Best British Single at the event.
