BBC threatens legal battle over New York-based American Sherlock
Or just a wonderfully lame excuse for a SHERLOCK post

A producer has warned it could launch legal action against U.S network CBS after it announced plans to screen a modern day version of Sherlock Holmes.
Producers of the BBC's Sherlock series, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch, have said they will take necessary action if the American production Elementary has too many similarities.
'We understand that CBS are doing their own version of an updated Sherlock Holmes', said executive producer at Hartswood Films Sue Vertue.
'We are very proud of our show and like any proud parent, will protect the interest and wellbeing of our offspring,' she told The Independent.
Ms Vertue said that CBS had made an offer to the BBC 'a while back' about filming a remake of the series but nothing had come of it.
She added that reassurances had been made about the network's integrity during talks and she hoped that their own version did not resemble the BBC's production.
The current series has been a huge hit in the States but is currently shown on PBS.
It has made laptops and text messaging an important part of the plots and is thought that this might cause problems for CBS who have also created a modern day setting.

I will only accept an American Sherlock Holmes if he is played by that hugely underappreciated talent NICOLAS CAGE

LOL what? Why would you bother when there is such a brilliant series happening at the moment?

That being said, I think it's unfair to judge it before watching it.
Also I'd like to have some episodes made by someone who wasn't a bit of a tosser (coughcoughMoffat) but lol as if that would happen stateside.
You can whine when they start making episodes about Chinese cyphers and yellow spray paint.
it's not like they invented sherlock holmes... and anyway i thought house was already supposed to be "the modern holmes". (even though if you've watched even a single episode of house you realize none of the writers know anything about sherlock holmes)
Cause what you say about Sherlock Holmes is truth.

So, I agree in the sense that they should see what exactly this show will be like before suing. If it turns out to be an actual remake of the BBC series, or close enough thereto, bring out the lawyers.
Also ACCENTS
I got it recommended to me, and within a week I'd watched all 6 of them.
and since have a long time for the new series you can catch us easily
I had nothing to do one day and I watched all the episodes in two days. That was earlier this week and now it's taken over my life
but i'm still not quite in the mood for checking out, idk
TILE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
because i dressed up as garth for halloween and the wig+glasses are still chillin on my shelf, staring at me
THIS IS WHAT I HAD IN MIND
A+
this does not accurately reflect my life as an American
episode one: sherlock steals the declaration of independence
Thinking of spamming this with all kinds of amazing things
Why wouldn't Sherlock be discreetly jumping on a trampoline in a waterfall? I do it all the time
But if you have to do another Holmes adaptation, why don't you do a, I don't know, female Holmes and Watson in Victorian England and see how that might reflect on them as characters considering how women lived then back in the day?
Or hell, even just subtitles.
