AMC news: Two-hour Mad Men premiere, The Killing officially trolling us all

Ready for some breaking news about AMC’s The Walking Dead, Mad Men, Breaking Bad and The Killing?

– The previously announced third season of The Walking Dead will be 16 episodes, three episodes longer than season two.

– The Killing season 2 will premiere April 1. Yes, that’s right, the show that infuriated viewers with its non-resolution ending (and now plans to still not reveal who killed Rosie Larsen until the end of season two) is coming back on April Fools Day (the same as the second season of HBO’s Game of Thrones, a show whose creative twists also frustrated some viewers). The Killing premiere will be two hours.

– AMC also officially confirmed the March 25 premiere date for the return of Mad Men, and added that the premiere will also be two hours.

– While there’s no official date for Breaking Bad season five, AMC says the show will return sometime in the third quarter of this year.

galagooo 15th-Jan-2012 01:41 am (UTC)
I'm over the Killing. It was supposed to be resolved last season; I'm not going to sit through another and not have an answer.
winniechili 15th-Jan-2012 01:46 am (UTC)
Apparently they're not even going to reveal who killed her until the s2 FINALE
gnatsi 15th-Jan-2012 02:16 am (UTC)
ehhhh. idk how they can drag it out 12 more episodes.
lolita_applebum 15th-Jan-2012 03:01 am (UTC)
ugh kill it with fire
leopard_legs 15th-Jan-2012 02:47 pm (UTC)
the season ended with them getting on a plane, right? That was a middle episode of the Danish original...then it picked straight back up and carried on
I hear it veered from the original a little too? Idk...the original was 20 eps long, so maybe they're just following it along

don is far from being my favorite, but jon hamm needs an emmy for real

my_bitch_face 15th-Jan-2012 01:44 am (UTC)
Third quarter?

fuck you AMC
backupblood 15th-Jan-2012 01:45 am (UTC)
That means fall, right? Because if they put it behind Walking Dead, that would be a smart movie in terms of ratings.
my_bitch_face 15th-Jan-2012 01:46 am (UTC)
Yeah prob, I guess technically it could be late summer too, like July/aug
asmallwonder 15th-Jan-2012 02:11 am (UTC)
i didn't expect it to be any earlier tbh. i'm sure they want anticipation to simmer for awhile
cyrano_cyse 15th-Jan-2012 01:44 am (UTC)
does anyone know where i can download mad men bluray rip?

i was looking for the commentaries...
actxappalledx 15th-Jan-2012 01:44 am (UTC)
I stopped watching the Killing after like four episodes for some reason, but I guess I'm not going to start again. That is some shit, I thought we were supposed to know who the killer was by the end of the first season.
ukesenshi 15th-Jan-2012 01:47 am (UTC)
r u me

I think we even stopped after the same episode lole
simplychristina 15th-Jan-2012 02:15 am (UTC)
lol I stopped on ep 4 too, was thinking of downloading them and continuing until I saw this today that her killer wasn't revealed last season and won't be revealed until the end of season 2.

I don't watch to be completely trolled.
schexyschteve 15th-Jan-2012 01:45 am (UTC)
TWO HOURS?! HELL YEAHHHHHHHHHH
missmoelove3 15th-Jan-2012 01:45 am (UTC)
Love Mad Men, but not sure I could sit through a 2 hr premiere.
lilyadore 15th-Jan-2012 01:45 am (UTC)

m-fucking-te. Sundays are so crappy without it.
devlinacardigan 15th-Jan-2012 01:46 am (UTC)
I guess this is unpopular but I love The Killing, My fav ep was the one where they did nothing but look for Linden's son for the entire hour, I didn't mind the open ending and I cannot wait until it premiers. I'm gonna be all over it.

winniechili 15th-Jan-2012 01:47 am (UTC)
lol yeah if that was actually your favorite episode then you're going to love it.
backupblood 15th-Jan-2012 01:48 am (UTC)
LMFAO
devlinacardigan 15th-Jan-2012 02:14 am (UTC)
Maybe it's because I was never really as invested in Rosie and her family as I was in Linden and Holder, but yes. That is definitely my favorite episode.
evett 15th-Jan-2012 01:53 am (UTC)
Yeah I don't get why so many people went crazy over the ending. They act like they have never seen a cliffhanger finale in their life. It is not like the show got canceled and you won't find out who the killer is.
asmallwonder 15th-Jan-2012 02:03 am (UTC)
i'd be reluctant to go so far as love, but i'll still watch season 2. though...if i fall a few episodes behind it will be hard to get myself to catch up i think. but i NEED to know how this turns out tbh
famousdeaths 15th-Jan-2012 02:20 am (UTC)
I loved that episode. The only thing I hated about the finale was how they made Holder a potential bad guy. I was enjoying his relationship with Linden. If the show wanted to drop the mystery plotline and just be about their partnership I would've been all over it.
rexilla 15th-Jan-2012 02:30 am (UTC)
I love that episode, too! I was frustrated with the finale at first but I'm over it now and ready to see more of Holder and Linden.
cinco_series 15th-Jan-2012 02:30 am (UTC)
Are you me? I loved that episode! The next morning i went on multiple boards/websites thinking it will get all the praise it deserves and was shocked at how much people hated it and hated the show in general. Anyway, excited for season 2!!
hunnichild 15th-Jan-2012 02:52 am (UTC)
I liked that episode too but only because it felt like both the writing and the acting were on par. Usually the writing is a little lacking for me and it feels like they dragged things out too much. I can only see Mitch break down and cry so many times before it feels like simultaneous grief porn and AMC/Michelle Forbes mugging for an Emmy nomination.
tangerinefriday 15th-Jan-2012 10:33 am (UTC)
Yes, you're me.
ukesenshi 15th-Jan-2012 01:46 am (UTC)
Wait ... they didn't resolve the whole thing by the end of The Killing's first season?

WOW. I thought each season was going to be a single case with full resolution.

I was really into that show and then fell really far behind and gave up ... sounds like I lucked out.
milestoburn 15th-Jan-2012 01:49 am (UTC)
FOR REAL. Basically they arrested someone for the killing and in the very last scene you find out that it's probably a fakeout and he's not the real guy. It was a slap in the face to viewers who stuck through that mopey show only to find out who actually did it. (Obvi I'm still bitter over wasting 13 hours of my life on that dumb show.)
asmallwonder 15th-Jan-2012 02:00 am (UTC)
what annoyed me was they spend the whole season like "holder is a good guy!!! wait idk maybe not he's really good at ~undercover~! wait no he's a good guy seriously!!!" then in the last 30 seconds it's like "MAYBE NOT AGAIN OOPS!"

i'm sure by the end of season 2 he'll have kicked a puppy and saved a slow child from drowning
3waystoepica 15th-Jan-2012 01:46 am (UTC)
re GOT: So basically people who didn't know about the books and/or don't care if it follows them or not were pissed.
sassandthecity 15th-Jan-2012 01:48 am (UTC)
I was dead and dying when the original version of The Killing showed up in one of the new episodes of Absolutely Fabulous
