No Doubt Pays Tribute To Fan Who Passed Away From Cancer

Amy Pepper Griggs, 30, from Toronto, Canada, was honored by Gwen Stefani and No Doubt Tuesday night on Twitter and their official website.

The band posted a collage of photos of their super fan Amy, including a group photo taken when the band reunited on their summer tour of 2009 and a heartfelt message:


"In memory of our friend Amy Pepper. Thank you for the years of love and support. We will miss you.

Gwen, Tony, Tom & Adrian
- No Doubt"


Amy had first met the band in 2000, then continued to support the band while making friends all over the world, including meeting her husband Brandon Griggs, from California.

Amy passed away on January 3rd due to complications from Lymphoma. The band had tweeted a caring message to Amy on January 1st, after learning of her declining condition:

Also - my mom had lymphoma. It was so rough to deal with. Thankfully she put it in remission, but she's also battling terminal breast cancer at the same time, so it's a lose-lose situation. :(

one of my friends passed away last year and facebook keeps posting her old facebook status updates. It's really tough sometimes.

I think you can report somebody as deceased to get the reconnecting note to show up, if you would be inclined to do so.

ikr. it feels like this was their last thought and didn't realize what was going to happen next. i've never lost anyone close to me, but I've come across people who have lost someone and like a sad person, I would read everyone's goodbyes on that person's facebook and be humbled & grateful that I'm alive to make someone happy for another day.

last year, i met Tyler Clementi a week and a half before he committed suicide and reading his last Facebook status almost made me have a heart attack. especially since i didn't see it until the morning after :(

I knew about this, but seeing this on ONTD means the world.
I only had the privilege of meeting Amy a couple of times, but I've known her husband and inlaws for years as has my bf (since 2nd grade). Wonderful people. Positive people. Loving people. And pardon the dorkiness, but No Doubt, the BEST kind of people. Missing their wedding was a regret then that has only grown since. <3 (I wasn't able to afford a trip to Vegas as the time for it)

Amy was a warrior among fighters. I pray that something was learned from her treatments that goes on to further the fight against cancer. Amy and Brandon were angels for each other and I know he's in great hands when it comes to a guardian now.

RIP Amy. You're missed already. I know you can see all the love and especially the love in the fbook group dedicated to you. <3

OP, I super want to hug you right now for bringing this here <3

She REALLY was. (Not my fam, but I do adore the Griggs family like family. Brandon's mom was a rock for mine when my dad passed in 03. We're all entirely too young to be going through this with someone in our generation.)
