A couple of weeks back, Duncan Jones and his producing partner Stuart Fenegan hosted two special screenings of Moon at The New Beverly in LA. On one night, Sam Rockwell joined them, and the video cameras were switched on.
I’ve just watched a video of the whole Q&A with thanks to Man Made Movies, the dogged and determined Jones support blog.
The clip is embedded below, so you can enjoy it too. First, though, a transcript of Jones’ answer to the question “Is there any chance of a Moon sequel?”
You’ll definitely see the world expanding. As far as the epilogue of Sam Bell’s adventures there are going to be… the plan was to do Mute first. Mute is a sci-fi story that takes place in Berlin. It’s very much a city film. Moon‘s obviously a film about isolation, about as isolated as you can get on the far side of the moon. And there’s a third science fiction film, which will hopefully be the next film, which is a very different thing, which I can’t say too much about right now. But all three of those are connected in that they all take place within the same universe and each one of them will have just a couple of little fingers into each other’s story, so you’ll… just a little link between them all. So you’ll find out a little bit more about what happens in Moon in Mute and in this other film.
To take that on face value, Moon is positioned as the first of the three stories, chronologically.
I’m glad to hear that Jones is still pursuing his mysterious, project and hope to find out more about it soon. As for Mute, we understand that a comic book adaptation of the screenplay is somewhere in the pipeline…

Omfg can't wait for Mute tbh, both 'Moon' & 'Source Code' are brilliant!

Me and my husband watched "Moon" and when the credits rolled I said "huh that wasn't as good as I thought it would be" and I look over at my husband and he's bawling. So when we watched "Source Code" I said at some point "OH HE MISSES HIS DADDY" and then look over at hubby and TEARS AGAIN. Sheesh.
It looks like we're the only ones.
Never mind.
This makes me so happy, I love movies that are set in dystopic/futuristic worlds. Moon was perfect and Sam Rockwell gave one of my favourite performances ever! I trust Duncan Jones tbh!
and source code was a bit of fun
QT
i think the reason source code sucked was that the studio wanted to force a happy ending. i hope he sticks with his guns more.
I want to hang out with Sammy boy. Or just have him dance for me.
