VGBB talks about The Hangover Part III

The Wolfpack has conquered the tantalizing bacchanalia that is Las Vegas, and weathered the lethally exotic wilds of Bangkok. But for The Hangover Part III, Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms), and Alan (Zach Galifianakis) could very well be braving the untamed nightlife of that den of outré iniquity…Los Angeles?

In a recent appearance on the UK chat showThe Graham Norton Show, Cooper suggested that the third Hangover film would break from the wedding-bachelor-party-goes-too-far-and-the-guys-have-to-retrace-their-steps plot format of the first two films, and remain instead in the relatively familiar setting of the United States’ second biggest city. “We adhered to the formula in the second one,” Cooper said on the show.“And the third one, I think, which would close the whole trilogy — even though we never thought we would make a second one, let alone anybody would see the first one — I think it’ll take place in Los Angeles, and not adhere to the structure. It might be different.”

Cooper also said that director Todd Phillips is currently working on the script, and he hopes to start shooting next September. (Warner Bros. and Phillips’ office have yet to respond to a request for comment.) Last summer, while speaking with EW about his role in Paradise LostCooper hinted that Zach Galifianakis’ statements that the third Hangover would be about the guys breaking Alan out of a mental hospital “might be right.” Then he laughed. “I mean, I have no idea. But that sounds good.”

There's nothing wrong with more sequels featuring the characters. I didn't find Hangover 1 all that funny but it was enjoyable for the characters.

That Todd Phillips is a lazy fucking hack and just remade the first film as a sequel less tahn 3 years later shouldn't preclude the further adventures of those 3.

UGH, unnecessary.

i hate the hangover. partly because they're awful films and also because i had some godawful sex right after watching part II.
bluesforgotten 6th-Dec-2011 04:53 pm (UTC)
A) Justin Bartha is underrated
B) Ed Helms is too
C) I really don't think Bradley Cooper is gay simply because of his marriage to Jennifer Esposito. At that point, she wasn't more famous than him and it would've been more advantageous to his image for him to be single and dating - lots of publicity that way - but instead, he got married. Even though it didn't last, IDK I don't know why else he'd get married, he could've had more publicity through dating beards if he really was gay.
luvthatdrtywata 6th-Dec-2011 05:00 pm (UTC)
the marriage at the time was the most press he had ever gotten though. and they got divorce really quickly and she was really pissed. i wouldn't be surprised if he lead her on. a lot of lead actors are married "family men" so maybe he was going that angle? hugh jackman was married before he got famous...
noreallywtf 6th-Dec-2011 05:07 pm (UTC)
ia. If theyre going to make a part 3, I hope Justin Bartha gets more screen time.
getnassty 6th-Dec-2011 05:19 pm (UTC)
IA. He is hot.
jmonkey3152 6th-Dec-2011 05:21 pm (UTC)
IA with A and B. Regarding C, apparently the Bradley gay rumors are because of Victor Garber and him during Alias or whatever though.
andres01234 6th-Dec-2011 04:53 pm (UTC)
This shitty franchise needs to be stopped
sky365 6th-Dec-2011 04:55 pm (UTC)
why does hollywood insist on making sequels of bad movies
brandon198403 6th-Dec-2011 04:55 pm (UTC)
Haven't even seen the first one, aside from random snippets here and there and have no desire to either. /csb
yomommafoo 6th-Dec-2011 04:56 pm (UTC)

dothecrunge 6th-Dec-2011 04:57 pm (UTC)
The guys who worship these movies/find them hilarious/relate to them/want to be in a "wolfpack" are the worst types of guys
reunionfan 6th-Dec-2011 05:04 pm (UTC)
i fucking know. all the ones I've met are complete douche bags
ohkkrista 6th-Dec-2011 05:16 pm (UTC)
tbh I think the movies are hilarious, but the guys that think that this crap would fly anywhere other than in hollywood are insane. The wolfpack crap is SO obnoxious.
boss_sister 6th-Dec-2011 09:56 pm (UTC)
Yep.
chantonii 7th-Dec-2011 08:56 am (UTC)
They really are the worst. So annoying. And they just quote those fucking movies all the time.
girlygirlk8e 6th-Dec-2011 04:58 pm (UTC)
I personally don't want a Hangover 3, it'll be the same movie once again. But you know, the money this cash cow will bring in will be the greenlight.
spoiled_water 6th-Dec-2011 04:59 pm (UTC)
