Connie Britton Steps Out With Her New Adopted Baby

American Horror Story star Connie Britton may be having baby dramas onscreen, but it's a different story in her personal life.

The 44-year-old has just welcomed nine-month-old Ethiopian Eyob after a three month adoption process, and couldn't wait to show off her adorable son this weekend.

The talented actress, who was nominated for an Emmy for her performance in hit US show Friday Night Lights, enjoyed a leisurely Saturday at The Ivy in LA with her gorgeous boy.

With her fair auburn hair scooped up into a loose bun, and opting for dark colours and glasses; Connie left it to Eyob, who she affectionately calls 'Yoby' to steal the limelight in natty green socks and matching shirt.

He was tucked cosily into a Baby Bjorn-style papoose that matched his mother's navy outfit.

Connie joins the likes of Sex And The City star Kristin Davis, who adopted a little girl a few months ago.

She told People magazine how she traveled to Africa to collect her baby.

The star said that holding the tiny tot for the very first time was a moment she had been waiting for.

'It was such a wonderful moment of completion,' she told People.

'I thought I was going to collapse into a puddle of tears. I was just grinning from ear to ear.'

'I am thanking my lucky stars every day,' she added.

Divorcee Connie is currently single.

A 3 month adoption process?! Man, I know some people that had to wait yearsss!

oh the perks of being a celeb.
klutzy_girl 30th-Nov-2011 09:44 pm (UTC)
That was a typo. It took her three years, not three months.
reunionfan 30th-Nov-2011 09:47 pm (UTC)
oh okay, makes more sense now lol.
bad_situation 30th-Nov-2011 09:44 pm (UTC)
aww I love Mrs. Coach
zeerine 30th-Nov-2011 09:44 pm (UTC)
Idg why these people can't adopt domestically. Instead of going international like Angie, they could donate into projects to keep these babies families together.
squirrels_oh_no 30th-Nov-2011 09:46 pm (UTC)
It's much harder getting an infant in the US than it is going abroad and getting one.
zeerine 30th-Nov-2011 10:01 pm (UTC)
Harder but not impossible.
rubidium 30th-Nov-2011 09:47 pm (UTC)
I am very uninformed but will nonetheless say that I believe it's quicker/easier to adopt from abroad?

Also, all adoption is good, regardless of the country of origin of the child. All kids need homes, and I guess the rationale for adopting from abroad is that you're improving the quality of life of the child, whereas wards of the state in the US are (supposedly) taken care of ok.
cautionbomb 30th-Nov-2011 09:47 pm (UTC)
Why is it bad to get a baby from another country though? idgi people who think that adopting domestically is somehow better, there are kids who need families all over the world, not just in the US.
soul_amazinn 30th-Nov-2011 09:50 pm (UTC)
What difference does it make where the baby is adopted from as long as it's going to a loving home.
venetianglass 30th-Nov-2011 09:56 pm (UTC)
I can't have kids and told my sister I planned to adopt domestically and she had so many bad things to say about it (mostly because the baby would probably be black and my family is white and not very openminded) and my response was basically FUCK YOU, BIG SISTER.

But, yeah, it was a happy two days after Thanksgiving wake up call!
chopmeup 30th-Nov-2011 10:41 pm (UTC)
my aunt and uncle have adopted 2 children, a boy from Russia and a girl from San Diego. to get Matthew it was almost a 2 year long process and had to visit twice before they were allowed to take him home. he was a year and 6 months when they finally got him. to get Macey it took 9 months and they have an open adoption with the family and they got to be there the day she was born. i think it honestly just depends on the situation, but those kids are the loves of my life and i'm so thankful for both of them, it doesn't matter what country, they're my family and i would do anything for them.
animalyears 30th-Nov-2011 11:48 pm (UTC)
id rather rescue a child from a horrible third world country than adopt an american who can make it practically on their own
nicolesnitchie 1st-Dec-2011 02:42 am (UTC)
because you can pretty much buy children some places overseas for the right price, under the guise of an ~expedited process
killmyunicorn 1st-Dec-2011 01:26 pm (UTC)
Considering her age and that she is single, I bet it would be a rare chance she could adopt domestically. Even internationally it took her three years.
gl0ry_fadesx 30th-Nov-2011 09:44 pm (UTC)
awwwww, cute (:

I always find myself distracted from the show, just staring at her tiny forehead. Her hairline looks as if it's about to merge with her eyebrows at any second.
ohramone 1st-Dec-2011 12:07 am (UTC)
Oh no that's all i'm gonna see now :(
itsrelaxicab 1st-Dec-2011 12:49 am (UTC)
thanks for this
la_oceane 1st-Dec-2011 01:45 am (UTC)
every time I read one of the posts I read all of the comments to see if someone mentioned her forehead.

until now, no one has.

THANK YOU. it bothers me SO MUCH.
_underwhelmed 1st-Dec-2011 03:31 am (UTC)
this is what i came here to say
she and teresa guicide could benefit from a little hairline fixin
esoteriq 1st-Dec-2011 03:39 am (UTC)
Oh my god, she is the worst. I only know of her from scrolling through ONTD, but goddamn that forehead, or lack thereof. Always stop and stare.
polaroidmoment 1st-Dec-2011 01:37 pm (UTC)
AW I suffer from the same small forehead affliction :/ I never really noticed until I went to a hair appointment and asked for blunt bangs... and the stylist told me my forehead was too small. HARD MEMORIES.

But then I found a new stylist who is amazing and was like "FUCK IT, let's do it!" and now I love my bangs, despite my three-head.
bprorsum 30th-Nov-2011 09:47 pm (UTC)
Look at me, I don't see colour...
