I have boned many-a dude, but trust me, assholes suck and you don't want that to blight your sexual experience. Wait until you find someone who is awesome, that you're really attracted to, etc. It doesn't "have to be special" because it's just sex, but doing it with an asshole is never a pleasant experience.

Make sure it's with someone you're comfortable with. It seems like your first time matters to you, so it's best you don't regret it! If you hook up with an asshole, even the best sex won't be worth it.

I exchanged mine with my bf when I was 17 and I don't regret it, another friend recently tossed hers at 22 to a FWB and she doesn't regret it either.

(I hesitate to use the word "lost" or "taken" in regards to virginity because it makes becoming a non-virgin seem traumatic even if the sex is enjoyable and consensual)

In my (perhaps somewhat limited experience - 10 guys?) experience, gay guys don't seem to want to keep up with condom etiquette for long into relationships or what-not. It's probably the same for all guys, so I don't mean to generalise. I am just a firm believer in safe sex and only when you're serious + get tested does it become OK to not use protection...

That said, I'm sure many of us have had that drunken moment of irresponsibility where we have thrown caution to the wind. I did once, with a guy I'd only known for 3 weeks, and it was kind of scary afterwards not knowing what could have happened.

ugh every guy I've been with has hated using condoms. It's frightening really -- to think about all the people that had said "ok let's bareback!" before me... D: I've only had unprotected sex when I've been with someone for 6+ months and after we had been tested together. Even then, I still freak out about it.

I've even had guys that have gotten offended because I wouldn't bareback. Are you furreal, dude?
