thank god swift is out. now THIS is a covergirl.
the_pinkdress 12th-Nov-2011 03:54 pm (UTC)
taylor's ads were hideous. i can't believe those were considered suitable. could've been a lot better.
baratheon 12th-Nov-2011 03:48 pm (UTC)

lovely_tunes 12th-Nov-2011 05:32 pm (UTC)
how come

it's a well known fact throughout the industry that drugstore brands pay WAY WAY more than high fashion brands

if anything, then she's making BANK!
trumpydoesmagic 12th-Nov-2011 08:07 pm (UTC)
Did you know, that when it snows, my eyes become large?
retromaury 12th-Nov-2011 03:49 pm (UTC)
she is the perfect woman. There would be less gay guys if all women looked like her.
retromaury 12th-Nov-2011 03:53 pm (UTC)
i mean look how perfect, how can u say no to a face like this
deftonedpiano 12th-Nov-2011 04:04 pm (UTC)
It's not her face they're saying no to. It's probably the lack of a penis and some other key factors.
atomicdevil 12th-Nov-2011 04:00 pm (UTC)
I don't even know where to begin with this comment tbh.
treebraids 12th-Nov-2011 04:28 pm (UTC)
you are doing too much.
parker_hallie 12th-Nov-2011 04:44 pm (UTC)
but some people just like dick tho
she's beautiful but I'd still prefer men even if there were thousands of women just like her
kevonmartini10 12th-Nov-2011 04:47 pm (UTC)
well plenty of gay guys love her so I don't think it works that way
spoiled_water 12th-Nov-2011 03:50 pm (UTC)
so beautiful

peruvianjew 12th-Nov-2011 03:53 pm (UTC)
I love her lipstick in the first one. I want it.
lunchbag 12th-Nov-2011 03:54 pm (UTC)
She's too classy and beautiful for this shitty brand tbh.

but $$$. every model wants a major cosmetics contract & it's rare to get one since they mainly go to celebs.
finchburg 12th-Nov-2011 04:07 pm (UTC)
Exactly, when was the last time Covergirl had a model promoting a key product?
withoutyoursmil 12th-Nov-2011 04:22 pm (UTC)
that's true. it sucks though, because i'd rather see product demonstrated on an actual model who knows how to pose and look good, rather than a celeb
_underwhelmed 13th-Nov-2011 12:34 am (UTC)
it's true, erin wasson and jessica white make so much money off their maybelliene campaigns

I've never used make-up in my life, but the bags under my eyes are really starting to bother me.

Anyone who can point me to a good product to cover them up? I really have no idea where to start....

* I'd ask at the store, but I'm scared they'll judge me for being such a noob.
ilikeandrewbird 12th-Nov-2011 04:20 pm (UTC)
I use NARS concealer and love it. YSL brightener is AMAZING. Go to Sephora, they will show you a million products. It's such an easy problem to fix.
ilikeandrewbird 12th-Nov-2011 04:20 pm (UTC)
oh and 99.9% of makeup artists are insanely friendly and helpful. I promise they wont act like you're a schmuck if you tell them you're clueless.
cickiz 12th-Nov-2011 05:04 pm (UTC)
iawtc. i think it's because they enjoy their job.
kerrigwen 14th-Nov-2011 07:09 am (UTC)
this, so much!

I only ever let myself get one of those 'free makeovers' they always offer before my wedding b/c I was genuinely clueless about what to do with my face and was like, "I CANNOT REMAIN CLUELESS AFTER I'M MARRIED" and I went to the NARS counter b/c she was the only one who met my eyes/that I wasnt intimidated by, and it was soooooooooo much fun!!! and she was so easy to talk to *happy sigh* plus now I'm in love with all things NARS/trust them b/c their products actually work so much better -_-
fusilli_head 12th-Nov-2011 04:25 pm (UTC)
Murad Essential-C eye cream is my shit. I don't wear foundation/concealer and this eye cream gets rid of bags and under eye darkness. What's your skin tone like? And honestly, they shouldn't judge you at a cosmetics counter. I used to work at one and my job was to just help people out. Somebody with a full Kim K face was coming to me for something different than someone with a bare face. If nothing else, somebody's lack or use of makeup just let's me know how to approach their knowledge base and their needs.
peddlestools 12th-Nov-2011 04:33 pm (UTC)
bobbi brown makes pretty great concealers.
ugly_jacket 12th-Nov-2011 04:45 pm (UTC)
i was a noob and then i met this wonderful girl at sephora who changed my life, if you just go in and tell them you know nothing about makeup they probably won't judge. they're on the whole very friendly, i think they know the makeup world can be a little intimidating (or i think it is, i am overwhelmed by choice tho)
cickiz 12th-Nov-2011 05:05 pm (UTC)
generalizing: but find a gay guy if one works there. i've noticed that they have the best recommendations.
_underwhelmed 13th-Nov-2011 12:51 am (UTC)
for under eye bags and puffiness i think this ole hendrichsen is awesome

the roller ball ones that are every where now (garnier has one at the drug store are effective

What's your favorite red lipstick, ONTD? I'm almost out of one that was discontinued and I found a good dupe for it (my dupe for Mattese Cranberry is Too Faced Drop Dead Red) but I'm always looking for another shade since I constantly run out. I wear red lipstick every day. Personally, I prefer a really highly pigmented, blue based berryish, dark red.
vanjar 12th-Nov-2011 04:42 pm (UTC)
I love my MAC Russian Red. It is highly pigmented and one of the few red lipsticks that goes with my skin (blue based). It's a traffic stopping, heads turning lipstick. I usually tone it down a bit, but when I'm in the mood it goes full on. Always use a lip pencil because it tends to bleed a bit. It's a matte but you can always use a lip gloss.
fusilli_head 12th-Nov-2011 04:49 pm (UTC)
I always go full tilt boogie with my reds. And I'm a matte only kind of girl. I can get away with a lot, though. I work in the beauty industry so I don't have a "day face". What lip pencil do you use?
ecrivais 12th-Nov-2011 05:39 pm (UTC)
NARS Cruella matte stick or Red Lizard lipstick

But my all time fave is discontinued. Chanel Coco Red :(
aprilfunk 12th-Nov-2011 05:48 pm (UTC)
MAC Dark Side! I wish I could find a way to mattify it so I could wear it every day, though.
fuzzyfuzzybunny 12th-Nov-2011 08:13 pm (UTC)
I'm generally a MAC girl, but the Russian Red is a bit too warm for me. My favorite red is actually a pink that is so deep it seems red: Revlon Raspberry Bite.

This pic is a little dark... It doesn't look like a dark burgundy on, it's a deep, rich red/pink, like the deepest blue red you've ever seen, it looks a LOT like the first lipstick J-Stam is wearing.

It's got a high-end look to it, like a Chanel Rouge Coco or something. I literally get asked wherever I go what it is, and I just ordered 2 for the price of 1 on Amazon for less than 10 bucks!

MAC's Pro Longwear Lipcreme in Prolong.
letsallchant 12th-Nov-2011 08:53 pm (UTC)
Smashbox Sangria (but it's IDK if it counts since it's technically a lipstain).
menippe 12th-Nov-2011 11:15 pm (UTC)
DuWop's Private Red is my new favourite. It's such a true red and it goes on really nicely too. It feels smooth and silky, not at all drying.
_underwhelmed 13th-Nov-2011 12:56 am (UTC)
MAC lady bug bc i prefer the lustre finish and i find it's versatile for a red, ie you can build it to more intensity
kerrigwen 14th-Nov-2011 07:13 am (UTC)
RIMMEL! omg insta-love with Coffee Shimmer. It's so perfect for me/my skintone etc. just ... perfect.

lol I actually asked the sales lady if it would be discontinued soon or anything or if I should stock up now. She was so nice though - said I needn't worry, Rimmel doesn't do that, esp. since this line is selling really well ('Moisture Renew') and that only Revlon really discontinues their shit.
