More South Park/Matt & Trey News: SP Documentary To Air On CC + 60 Minutes Interview



Early next month, Comedy Central is giving South Park fans an inside look at the making of an episode through a documentary called 6 Days to Air: The Making of South Park. Judging by this trailer, this documentary, which was made by Arthur Bradford, is a must-watch for anyone counting down the days to the animated comedy’s return.


6 Days to Air was shot over the course of three months at South Park Studios in California. The film follows the production process for the series. As you’ll see in the trailer, the film picks up as Matt Stone and Trey Parker head back west to resume making of the series after the opening of their (now Tony winning) Broadway musical The Book of Mormon. Bill Hader is shown in the trailer, as are some behind-the-scenes looks at what appears to be the “HUMANCENTiPAD” episode, which was Season 15’s premiere.

I had a cat named Kenny (Polydactyl, so it looked like he had mittens, so I really felt the need to name him after one of the SP kids and Kenny was the only one that'd work). He died NYE 1999. It was REALLY hard telling people my cat, Kenny, died, cause it was inevitable what the response was...

My dog missed the SHIT out of that cat for a solid year.

I watched the 60 min interview, made me remember why I love Matt and Trey so much. I wish I could see their Broadway Show...damn living in the UK. :/

Shame SP hasn't been that funny since Season 6 for me....but I'll always love the show.

Randy is such a good character. Easily my favorite adult. When my bf and I quote SP, 99% of the time we're going to quote Randy. And "Staaaannn" is a staple of our vocabulary.

6 Days to Air is a long-established feature of the SouthParkStudios website. This is nothing new. They've been doing this since season 10

So, funny thing. I've never watched South Park, but I've been trying to get into it. It's just kind of hard what with the jabillion episodes. Can someone tell me what the best seasons/episodes are?

You don't necessarily have to watch them in order, but they do care enough to have some continuity. When you see it, you'll appreciate it a lot. IMO it's all great until like S12, but even then only some episodes are not up to par. This is coming from a majorrr SP lover though so I'm sure lots of people disagree with me. I never watched them in order so I just go back and watch whatever I don't remember and it's really not a big deal. I'm usually just pleasantly surprised.

As far as the best episodes go...there are way too many of them... my fav seasons are prob 8 & 9.

I never really watch them in order but like the other poster said there is some continuity. (lol I was that kid watching old episodes at the lowest possible volume when I got the chance /csb) When I was older and got into it again, and before I watched on tv, I usually just googled and tried to find different lists of the best SP episodes.
Season 7 has some pretty great episodes that lots of fans like imo. There are still a lot of great ones that are missing but like I said just look up some lists. Its hard to narrow it down but I think season 6, 8 and 9 are my favourite seasons.
