When you have your baby with HypnoBirthing®, you will not be in a trance or a sleep. What you will experience is similar to the daydreaming, or focusing, that occurs when you are engrossed in a book or a movie or staring into a fire.

kristinized 16th-Sep-2011 03:07 am (UTC)
I don't really understand that, so you focus the pain away? I think it would be really hard to daydream while squeezing a baby out.
seraphitta 16th-Sep-2011 03:25 am (UTC)
she'll be daydreaming she's squeezing a bb out

Actually it works really, really well. I did hypnobirthing with my daughter. No pain meds, epidurals, etc for 72 hours of labor. Then my kid decided to fuck with me, got stuck at 9 1/2 centimeters for 4 hours, and I ended up with an emergency c-section.

HypnoBirthing® - The Mongan Method is as much a philosophy as it is a technique. The concept of HypnoBirthing® is not new, but rather a "rebirth" of the philosophy of birthing as it existed thousands of years ago and as it was recaptured in the work of Dr. Grantly Dick-Read, an English obstetrician, who, in the 1920s, was one of the first to forward the concept of natural birthing. The method teaches you that, in the absence of fear and tension, or special medical circumstances, severe pain does not have to be an accompaniment of labor.

You will gain an understanding of how the birthing muscles work in perfect harmony--as they were designed to--when your body is sufficiently relaxed and you trust birth. You will learn how to achieve this kind of relaxation, free of the resistance that fear creates, and you will learn to use your natural birthing instincts for a calm, serene and comfortable birth.

You will be conversant and in good spirits--totally relaxed, but fully in control. Awake throughout, you will be aware of your body's surges and your baby's progress; but because you will have trained yourself to reach complete
relaxation, you will be able to determine the degree and the manner in which you will feel the surges. You will experience birthing in an atmosphere of calm relaxation, free of the fear that prevents the muscles of your body from functioning as nature intended them to. In this calm state, your body's natural relaxant, endorphins, replaces the stress hormones that constrict and cause pain.

Trained HypnoBirthing® educators are successfully teaching women and their birthing companions to trust birth and release all fear and limiting thoughts. HypnoBirthing® practitioners can be found in 34 countries throughout the world.

i met a lady who hypnobirthed. she told me that a couple of years later she got into a car accident and broke her arm badly. she used the hypnobirthy techniques to control the pain and barely felt anything.

i was a little creeped out.
anne_renee 16th-Sep-2011 03:25 am (UTC)
My sister has done it twice and I've witnessed it for her second child. It was truly amazing the way she could focus her pain and not make a sound.
gaga 16th-Sep-2011 03:33 am (UTC)
the fuck
invisible_cunt 16th-Sep-2011 03:02 am (UTC)

the_only_babbs 16th-Sep-2011 03:28 am (UTC)
It's awesome. It turns something that can be really scary into an event you have more control over.
foureyedgirl 16th-Sep-2011 03:04 am (UTC)
I didn't even know she was pregnant lol
my_bitch_face 16th-Sep-2011 03:06 am (UTC)
Yeah, they're cutting this season back to 13 eps b/c of it
my_bitch_face 16th-Sep-2011 03:05 am (UTC)
So gorgeous
crystalzelda 16th-Sep-2011 03:07 am (UTC)
My tv Queen!

And I am sooooooo excited about the pregnant storyline, I adore it. I was also going to include a comment about how haters make babies cry but I won't risk it today tbh
my_bitch_face 16th-Sep-2011 03:08 am (UTC)
ia I actually like the pregnancy storyline, Booth's reaction was so qt
crystalzelda 16th-Sep-2011 03:10 am (UTC)
ikkk, I screamed when I saw that. This year's season finales were all on point.
oblivious_frog 16th-Sep-2011 05:47 am (UTC)
It made my soo happy, I felt ridiculous because I was literally squealiing over it lol.
zootycoonlady 16th-Sep-2011 03:12 am (UTC)
rickety cricket will be watching over the proceedings.
omgitsalexis 16th-Sep-2011 03:14 am (UTC)
yeah i'm really good on that tbh. epidural the shit out of me.
mandramoddle 16th-Sep-2011 03:21 am (UTC)
Epidurals are the effing best. I was throwing up, screaming in pain before I had mine. Afterwards, I was like woohoo! until I had to actually start pushing.
the_only_babbs 16th-Sep-2011 03:30 am (UTC)
I did the hypnobirth thing and it works really well! I was in labor for 72 hours without any pain medications at all. I ended up with an emergency c-section after my kid got stuck but the hypnobirthing stuff is pretty incredible.
grlfrinly 16th-Sep-2011 03:15 am (UTC)
what is a doula? anyways u go girl
juteux 16th-Sep-2011 03:24 am (UTC)
she'll probably have a midwife, doulas don't actually deliver babies.
german_shep_fan 20th-Sep-2011 04:15 am (UTC)
Ik its her life and all, and its just my opinion but it seems pretty stupid to me. If something goes wrong during the birth and baby gets stuck or cord catches around neck ect she will be up the creek!
teri_lynn 16th-Sep-2011 03:26 am (UTC)
A doula is the most awesome thing ever. Mine rubbed my feet for me. Bliss!!
vonlisbon 16th-Sep-2011 03:15 am (UTC)
