Akira, Noir, Oldboy, Cowboy Behop, Dirty Dancing, Footloose, all these adaptations....well now we can add another beloved movie to the list....
While the background noise continues about Fox bringing a Romancing The Stone feature film into reboot territory, the property has also been optioned for a TV version that will be set for NBC. The series is going to be guided to pilot by Shawn Levy as the director for it with Mark Friedman who worked on The Forgotten. The original film was a pretty good hit back in 1984 though the sequel misfired in a lot of ways. The TV adaptation of it is looking to use name recognition more than anything else overall, which we’ve also seen with the way that Teen Wolf and Charlie’s Angels are being handled. According to Deadline, “NBC’s version will follow a successful but unfulfilled woman who teams with a risk-taking adventurer to take on weekly missions while on a larger quest to find her missing brother. ”

Ariel in that picture is like my brain, after having gone through hundreds and hundreds of paranormal/supernatural themed novel descriptions, and that's when, I decided to write my own.
"LOOKIT THOSE SNAPPAHS"
idgaf about most remakes, but don't touch this one, it's my favourite
But I think I'd really enjoy a War of the Roses remake, tbh.
But ia that this is totally random. It's not like Charlie's Angels or Hawaii Five-0, those shows are heavily syndicated and still have fans and I can definitely see the appeal of bringing them back. This? As a show? Why? Brand recognition?
And don't get me started on the movie remake. UGH. Unnecessary, especially with fourth-rate actors who will in no way compare to Douglas/Turner.
think harder jackasses.
Shit was believable and fun...
Also, I'll watch the Footloose remake only to bitch about how terrible it is...the original is flawless.
The scene where she dances with him and talks about ~~el Corazón, her face is a lolfest.
