Mariah's twins - Diamond nappy pins and 50 pairs of shoes

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Suri Cruise, look away now! It looks like Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' fashion-loving daughter has two new contenders to fight off for the most spoilt celebrity child crown. We knew that Mariah's daughter Monroe was already showing signs of diva-like behaviour, but it looks like the celeb mum isn't doing her and twin brother Moroccan any favours...

According to sources, as reported by Showbiz Spy, Mariah Carey's 3-month-old twins already have an impressive collection of baby shoes in their wardrobes despite not being able to walk yet.

"They must have something like 50 pairs of shoes between them," a source alleged. "Mariah can't go into a shoe store without buying a dozen pairs. She's pretty much the same in baby boutiques. She can't resist those tiny little shoes."

And it doesn't stop at shoes. Mariah and hubby Nick Cannon have also supposedly been splashing the cash on baby bling and customised jewels, from their ears to their nappies!

"Mariah bought earrings for her daughter and she's hoping to have her ears pierced soon," the source continued. "Both children have diamonds encrusted diaper pins, too."

We can't say we're totally surprised, but it gets better - "Mariah bought each twin loose diamonds that she put into a vault to give them when they can appreciate it," the source said.

But they can appreciate a wardrobe full of shoes before being able to walk or talk?! Hmmmm.

ragdollia 26th-Aug-2011 09:09 pm (UTC)
i don't get why in the US its so "barbaric" to pierce a baby's ears. i got mines done the day i was born :/
sugary_placenta 26th-Aug-2011 09:12 pm (UTC)
My family does it early on, too.
xsnickerzzx 26th-Aug-2011 09:14 pm (UTC)
Yea. I was around 7 months old. It's a more cultural thing though. I never thought is was bad in the US since I always see it.
zulkey 26th-Aug-2011 09:16 pm (UTC)
Because they have no choice in the matter and it's painful? I'm just guessing. I know it's a cultural thing though in some cases.
razetora 26th-Aug-2011 09:21 pm (UTC)
I got mine as a baby and I took it easily. My mom popped a bottle in my mouth and I stopped crying. I'm happy they did it then because I'm a huge pussy about pain now.
ty_slilreject 26th-Aug-2011 09:21 pm (UTC)
Yeah, I got mine pierced when I was about 3 days old.
pistol_eyes 26th-Aug-2011 09:22 pm (UTC)
Yeah, I got mine pierced at 6 mos.
soul_amazinn 26th-Aug-2011 09:29 pm (UTC)
I got my ears pierced when I was a couple months old.
daydreamx3 26th-Aug-2011 09:47 pm (UTC)
it's pretty common here...so I thought
mmbien 26th-Aug-2011 09:57 pm (UTC)
are you Spanish?
sashafarce 26th-Aug-2011 10:12 pm (UTC)
I would not want someone to make alterations to my body without my permission. I have an intense metal allergy and can't imagine being a baby having the issues that I did when I wore earrings - at three it was bad enough. There are a bunch of other reasons why I feel it's wrong, but in the end, I think it's unnecessary. I don't see why an infant needs jewelry.
lovely_persona 26th-Aug-2011 10:21 pm (UTC)
MTE, especially about doing it without permission. D:
lovely_persona 26th-Aug-2011 10:20 pm (UTC)
I have severe metal allergies and my holes are crooked. I was in so much pain when I was younger. :|
reallyupthere 26th-Aug-2011 10:36 pm (UTC)
ikr. I got mind pierced as soon as my mother possible could. It's not like I remember the pain and I'm sure it only hurts for a little bit. Totally worth it.
g0ssamer_decay 26th-Aug-2011 11:59 pm (UTC)
Because it can lead to the Baby dying. The ears are VERY close to the brain, and if the ears become infected it can/will move to the brain. Infants do NOT have the immune systems of a young adult or young child. Then there is the issue of allergies, the fact that an Infant can not express the fact that they are in pain beyond crying. They can not articulate my ears hurt, I think something is wrong. Which is how a minor infection can spread, and lead to death.

I have never gotten this to be honest, people obsessive over germs, clean, disinfected, building their kids a bubble and then they go and do this.
sapitacherry 27th-Aug-2011 02:12 am (UTC)
2 months here
narcissistbitch 27th-Aug-2011 03:09 am (UTC)
same/ It's actually normal for baby girls here to get out of the hospital with their ears pierced.
sugary_placenta 26th-Aug-2011 09:10 pm (UTC)
If I were rich I'd buy my babies/children tons of clothes. I love baby clothes, but shoes for kids who can't even walk? Ridiculous!
rihanna 26th-Aug-2011 09:12 pm (UTC)
me either tbh but it's not like she can't afford it!!!!!
goofusgallant 26th-Aug-2011 09:11 pm (UTC)
Not surprised.
It is Mariah, after all.
snapiphany 26th-Aug-2011 09:13 pm (UTC)
She would.
zulkey 26th-Aug-2011 09:14 pm (UTC)
I hope there's a maid whose sole job it is to clean shit out of those diamond diaper pins.

glowing_dragon 26th-Aug-2011 10:30 pm (UTC)
