Stranger Bitch Tells LeAnn Rimes to Eat A Sandwich

LeAnn Rimes' tiny frame is under scrutiny yet again.

Publicly criticized for her pin-thin frame, the 28-year-old singer vented her frustrations on Twitter Saturday after a random diner approached her at dinner in Chicago.

"How dare someone come to me at a table with the boys and tell me I need to eat something. What is wrong with people?" Rimes tweeted. "As I'm stuffing my face....have another drink and maybe take a class in manners! Cheers!"

When one of Rimes' Twitter followers suggested that "lots of folks think you are getting too thin" and that she's beginning to "look 12 years old," the country star fired back: "Once again, I'm done talking to rude people who have no right to have an opinion on my body. Out of line!"

"If it happened to someone who wasn't a 'celebrity' it would be rude, but to a public figure it's socially [acceptable]?" Rimes added.

When one follower congratulated Rimes for not punching the stranger, the singer admitted she "wanted to" fight back but "said nothing" instead.

"Eddie [Cibrian]'s mom was so impressed...his parents wanted to jump across the table!" Rimes added.

As the singer's Twitter followers voiced varying degrees of support and concern, Rimes made her feelings about the run-in clear: "You do not have the right to vomit out an opinion of anyone you do not know in front of family at a restaurant. And that's not an 'opinion' -- that's judgement of someone else."

Um, rude. I'm no fan of hers but coming up to people telling them to eat? Say no to body policing tbh!

rosie_marie 22nd-Aug-2011 10:16 pm (UTC)
That's messed up. I get that she's an attention-whore, but she really isn't that thin anymore, and hardly looks anorexic.
rosie_marie 22nd-Aug-2011 10:17 pm (UTC)
And even if she were anorexic, it's no one's business but her and her family's.
trikc 22nd-Aug-2011 10:55 pm (UTC)
if it's true it's rude as hell. But this girl seems to LOVE people talking about her body. I wouldn't be surprised if she just said it to start people talking again.
rosie_marie 22nd-Aug-2011 11:22 pm (UTC)
yeah I wouldn't be surprised either, but I also wouldn't be surprised if someone actually said it. tbh most of what she says about her body seems like her trying to justify her weight to people who bash her over it. Yeah she calls a lot of attention to herself by tweeting pictures of herself in bikinis, but I don't think people have a right to comment on her body like they do.
brazenflight 22nd-Aug-2011 11:46 pm (UTC)
Yeah she really is....
purpleplague 24th-Aug-2011 04:02 am (UTC)
tbh a BMI of below 17.5 is considered anorexic and most people who are slightly below that BMI would not look like the "typical anorexic". You have to get to a BMI of <16 in order to start looking scary emaciated and a lot of anorexics never get there. That doesn't mean they aren't as sick though. Also a lot of anorexics will deny deny deny their illness to anyone and everyone who asks or even assumes but secretly will get SO offended and hurt when someone agrees with their protests and says "oh yeah you're right, I totally believe you, you eat, you are skinny but not like anorexic skinny, I don't get why those people are saying that to you".

anorexic is a fucked up disorder. so fucked up.

larrylurker 22nd-Aug-2011 11:29 pm (UTC)
When did you get so sweet?
crystalzelda 22nd-Aug-2011 10:19 pm (UTC)
Well I don't think she was bringing it up when someone butted in her dinner to tell her to eat more. She doth protest a lot but still, damn people
britaloonie 22nd-Aug-2011 10:30 pm (UTC)
she's totally exaggerating what happened, i'm sure. i highly doubt anyone in chicago even knows who the hell she is.
mauichic 22nd-Aug-2011 11:40 pm (UTC)
yes, but while only the people at her table would have ever had to know about this incident.... she airs in on twitter instead.
claudia_yvr 22nd-Aug-2011 11:42 pm (UTC)
Exactly! Plus she's forever tweeting photos of herself looking skeletal in teeny bikinis. Frankly, I tend to believe she made this story up just so she act all outraged. SMDH.
mari_lyn00 22nd-Aug-2011 11:45 pm (UTC)
This. She's constantly bringing attention to it.
chantonii 23rd-Aug-2011 04:20 am (UTC)
MTE. No1 curr about her enough to tell her to eat a sandwich.
shelostcontro1 22nd-Aug-2011 10:17 pm (UTC)
that is terribly rude though. idg why people find it so hard to believe that they shouldnt discuss someones weight in public when it's a sensitive issue for 90% of people
cityxpretty 22nd-Aug-2011 10:50 pm (UTC)
Mte. I hate when people have to say something about someone's body when you just know they wouldn't like it if someone was commenting on their body.
praisemiley 22nd-Aug-2011 11:07 pm (UTC)

ghettogabs 22nd-Aug-2011 11:21 pm (UTC)
i hate when people comment on my weight. they think it's fine 'cause i'm thin but it just makes me uncomfortable, i hate it.
renegadewaltz 23rd-Aug-2011 12:00 am (UTC)
this jfc

it's like we're thin suddenly we're not allowed to be self-conscious wtf

sweet_honesty 23rd-Aug-2011 01:14 am (UTC)
You know if it was a stranger said this about a fat celeb, it'd be ONTD fat wank time. For some reason, people feel like it ok to be cruel to thin people.
fabuleuxx 23rd-Aug-2011 03:53 am (UTC)
I got called into the counselors office for a potential eating disorder. And after that my counselor would look at me with pity and make comments like "you looks so pale" *frown* and repeat it a few times for emphasis. Can you say RUDE?

(BTW I'm perfectly healthy)
milkradio 23rd-Aug-2011 04:33 pm (UTC)
I agree. People should just mind their own business when it comes to stuff like that imo.
tippani 22nd-Aug-2011 10:30 pm (UTC)
ikr. I was at my friend's birthday party a while back and tbh she is on the chubbier side, but her mom came over and told her to not eat so much cake because she was already large enough and the rest of us were just like :|. She looked so humiliated.
browniecakemix 23rd-Aug-2011 12:00 am (UTC)
omg what an awful thing to do to your kid :-\

ngl my mom used to act like that with me... back when I was 11 lol
forcestrong 23rd-Aug-2011 03:02 am (UTC)
This is my mother, exactly. My brother was always heavier and so he got a lot of, "Do you really think you need another helping?" and, "You could probably afford to skip the soda today, don't you think?" every fucking day. Not helpful.
milkradio 23rd-Aug-2011 04:35 pm (UTC)
Wowwwwwww and in front of everyone too. I would have died.

THANK YOU.
musicnextdoor 22nd-Aug-2011 11:30 pm (UTC)
this. "This person has an eating disorder. It will help them if I tell them to eat a sandwich." Not logical. More likely it's just meant to be nasty. But if you srsly think someone's really underweight -- hey, maybe they do have an issue you're going to make worse. If not, trying to make someone feel badly about their weight is still an asshole move.
heyignatzmouse 23rd-Aug-2011 02:01 am (UTC)
seriously it's so invasive.
I doubt they're even trying to be helpful just using it as an excuse to be rude.
shelostcontro1 22nd-Aug-2011 10:18 pm (UTC)
on that note, what should i get for dinner? Lol
ladyofmachinery 22nd-Aug-2011 10:20 pm (UTC)
My answer is always calamari. ugh I'm so fucking pissed. I've been sick for a couple of weeks (meningitis) and finally started feeling better on friday so last night I decided to get my favourite meal (Calamari) from my fav restaurant. I got home and ate like one piece. It was perfectly made but my apetite isn't back even though I do feel hungry. Urghhhhhhhhhhh I'm pisssssed I wasted all that delicious squid.
shelostcontro1 22nd-Aug-2011 10:22 pm (UTC)
lol that is the most random fav food ive ever heard. i dont like calamari but i hope you feel better<3
thebootyfaerie 22nd-Aug-2011 10:39 pm (UTC)
I'm jealous, because there isn't a good place around me to get good calamari.
sessile29 22nd-Aug-2011 11:04 pm (UTC)
Holy fucking shit, you had meningitis? It's so great that you're doing all right.
crystalzelda 22nd-Aug-2011 10:22 pm (UTC)
sushi. The answer is always sushi.
luckythree3 22nd-Aug-2011 10:25 pm (UTC)

That gif makes me miss The Fresh Prince of Bel Air
deseti_prsten 22nd-Aug-2011 10:18 pm (UTC)
that actually really is strange. can't stand this bitch, tho.
ladyofmachinery 22nd-Aug-2011 10:18 pm (UTC)
That's seriously messed up. And judging by that photo, she looks fine and not dealthly thin or anything. Not everyone can be in the size 4-6 range.
xtinkerbellax 22nd-Aug-2011 10:43 pm (UTC)
There's no way she's bigger than a 4 tbh.
apothecaries 22nd-Aug-2011 11:20 pm (UTC)
WAY smaller than a 4. Shes got to be a 0, I saw her a couple of weeks ago.
mari_lyn00 22nd-Aug-2011 11:47 pm (UTC)
She's tiny, I feel like that's a really good picture of her at a really good angle, because she looks almost skeletal.
handful_of_fire 22nd-Aug-2011 10:19 pm (UTC)
wouldn't be surprised if she made that up for attention, tho

wtf-ever, she loves this attention. also, she looks fine.
neversquare 22nd-Aug-2011 10:19 pm (UTC)
she looks really good in that pic, are there others im missing where she looks thin?
crystalzelda 22nd-Aug-2011 10:20 pm (UTC)
photo at source:

She looks like she has muscles, not that she's starving.
neversquare 22nd-Aug-2011 10:21 pm (UTC)
does look a lot thinner there, meh :-/
lanuitdete 22nd-Aug-2011 10:23 pm (UTC)
she looks lean, not starving-skinny
tradskins 22nd-Aug-2011 10:33 pm (UTC)
maybe its my fat biasing me but she reeeaally looks starving there to me

dat elbow
forgethissmile 22nd-Aug-2011 10:48 pm (UTC)
That's a skinny-ass girl.

She does have muscles, but she might also have the type of anorexia nervosa that also includes working out manically to burn off those 400 calories she had that day.
sessile29 22nd-Aug-2011 11:06 pm (UTC)
She does NOT look like she has muscles, wtf. She barely has any muscle tone.
darkanddusty 22nd-Aug-2011 11:11 pm (UTC)
There's one that she tweeted awhile back where she tried to convince someone that her very visible ribs were abs or some shit like that.
brazenflight 22nd-Aug-2011 11:48 pm (UTC)
That picture is older than her recent shots. There was a post on her the other day and I was really concerned for her.
soupdupcosmogrl 22nd-Aug-2011 10:19 pm (UTC)
Who believes this actually happened?
luckythree3 22nd-Aug-2011 10:28 pm (UTC)
How rude. I don't understand why people think this is ok. They all do it under the guise that they want to help but they really don't give a shit and that's what makes it even more offensive to me.
bgwqlc 22nd-Aug-2011 10:30 pm (UTC)
I can't believe people talk to you like that. I am a larger woman and I would never do it to a skinny woman. I know what it is like to have people tell you shit about your weight in public.
soupdupcosmogrl 22nd-Aug-2011 10:37 pm (UTC)
I've had people (even doctors, but not my GP) make the same comments, but I just try to consider where it's coming from. I don't fuel the fire by tweeting about my body 95 times a day.
nekonekox 22nd-Aug-2011 11:04 pm (UTC)
I wish it was just my body. People call me "intense" because I stick to my opinions, not easily giving up because it's socially acceptable to stand on some sort of neutral middle ground.
thewhowhatwhats 22nd-Aug-2011 10:33 pm (UTC)
Strangers do go up to thin people and tell them to "eat a sandwich" like it's going to magically fix their alleged anorexia.
lolzerz 22nd-Aug-2011 10:53 pm (UTC)
me. my sister had anorexia in high school and complete strangers would tell her she was too skinny and to eat a hamburger.
ekrelly 22nd-Aug-2011 11:24 pm (UTC)
me. i have an ED and i've had people (Strangers AND friends) make comments like that all the time. it happens. apparently people don't realize that when you are anorexic/bulimic, hearing someone say "oh my god, stop starving yourself, i can see your ribs! go eat a sandwich, ew!" triggers me and makes things worse. :\
maeh 22nd-Aug-2011 11:48 pm (UTC)
Me, every time I order food I have to hear a smartass comment (if I order a salad, I get a variant of "you should eat more"; if I order some fatty food, I'll hear that it's probably the only thing I'll eat that week, or "do you really want to eat that much tee-hee?"). Even when I'm just standing in line with a friend who's ordering I'll hear "no wonder you look like that then", "ordering something surely wouldn't hurt you", etcetera. Thin girl problems, I know, but it gets fucking annoying FAST.
thelxiepia 22nd-Aug-2011 11:53 pm (UTC)
I do, as I've had it happen to me quite a few times. People who I don't even know, who tell me that I'm too skinny and that I need to go eat. No one would go up to an overweight person, call them fat and tell them to stop eating, so why is the opposite done to people? Argh it makes me so angry. (And I'm not even underweight skinny, my bmi has always fallen in the 'healthy weight' category so it makes no sense whatsoever.)
dothefrug 23rd-Aug-2011 12:11 am (UTC)
I would believe it with anyone else, but at this point, I'm calling bullshit when it's coming from her.

I've bordered on scary skinny myself, and the only people who ever told me to eat something to my face were relatives/Russian people. Everyone else just said it behind my back (not maliciously, may I add) and admitted it to me after I gained some weight back.
isntdaveone 22nd-Aug-2011 10:19 pm (UTC)
lelu 22nd-Aug-2011 10:52 pm (UTC)
In my head, young LeAnn was really chubby. But I think maybe it was her hair and styling at the time that created this impression.

I do like her voice, though. Wish she would just sing. =\
_my_own_heat_ 22nd-Aug-2011 11:59 pm (UTC)
I remember seeing this music video on the Disney Channel all the time as a kid... weird.
