Matt Bomer to play a stripper in "Magic Mike"

Matt Bomer, the star of USA's White Collar, is the latest actor to join the sexy production, which is set in the world of male strippers and is based on Channing Tatum's experiences when he was 19.

Tatum leads the cast, which includes Alex Pettyfer and Matthew McConaughey. The story centers on a stripper (Tatum) who takes another (Pettyfer) under his wing.

Bomer is playing a stripper that is part of the troupe.

The concept sounds so terrible - and Channing Tatum is so Made of Fail - but Soderbergh can be such a classy director, and I can't see why Matt would do a horrible script (he hardly needs the $$$), so I'm intrigued what this is going to be like.

That said, I can't imagine how they can make a male stripper movie that isn't just going to invoke embarrassed giggling. I'm going to try and get my hands on the screenplay as soon as I can...
