As much as I love him, I agree with this statement. I've worn glasses since I was six and it just honestly bugs me to see hipsters with perfect vision wearing glasses. Especially the huge kinds that I wore as a kid and got teased for.

Lots of people have bad eyesight and you wouldn't even be able to tell because they're wearing contacts.
People have asked me the same thing when I bust out my glasses, just because they're fashionable doesn't mean they're fake.

They're jus glasses, it's not like they are those thick rimmed black ones. I feel like people think all glasses without wire frames are "hipster" glasses.

ia. not sure why you are getting all this hate for this comment. i find it strange... i mean, i wouldn't use a wheelchair or walker if i didn't actually need one, so why bother with the fake glasses? it just seems a little exploitative, and furthermore, those fake glasses usually can damage your eyesight or cause eye strain.

the hitrecord stuff drives me crazy. i saw him on the cover of his new hitrecord book and it seems.. narcissistic and kinda rude to the authors who are in the book.
