Amy Winehouse Dead



Amy Winehouse has died. The death has been confirmed on news desks for national newspapers and people on Twitter report seeing ambulances and police outside her house but as yet no statement has been made or cause of death announced, but there are strong rumours that this was the resulyt of a drugs overdose.

EDIT - Being reported on BBC News and Sky News now.  She was found just before 4pm today, in her flat.  Poor, poor girl.  RIP.

BRIDE OF EDIT - No updates, other than background on BBC News.  Guess there won't be anymore details released until it is "officially" confirmed by police etc.  Her Dad is in NYC, apparently, but on his way home.

CHILD OF THE BRIDE OF THE EDIT - Monte and Avery Lipman, President and CEO, Co-President of Universal Republic Records, respectively, said this in a statement to JustJared.com: “We are deeply saddened at the sudden loss of such a gifted musician, artist and performer. Our prayers go out to Amy’s family, friends and fans at this difficult time.”

i was 2 1/2 hours away at a Ren Fair and didn't hear about this until i was in the car on the way home!

i wasn't a huge fan or anything. i did like Rehab tho. but it's just so sad. she was so young! i hope she's able to find peace now!

Apparently a neighbor heard screaming coming from her house hours before? That's creepy if it's true.

The police are saying don't speculate about drugs...does that mean it might not be that?

From the point of view of someone who was not a fan - this is quite sad and absolutely unfortunate. Shocking? Hell no. Sad? Absolutely.

The world is a cold place when people can continue to enable someone who needs help to the point of their demise.

I just found out about this like an hour ago. I was like "WHAT" when I saw it in the newspaper.. I am kinda shocked tbh.

My heart just sank when I heard the news. She was so incredibly talented and was such a unique voice. For her to die so young is just heartbreaking. I know she had many issues and as others have been saying "its not really shocking". But just because somethings not shocking doesn't mean its not devastating. I was a fan of hers as well as her soulful music and 50s girl pop vibe with an edge. I was really hoping she'd overcome her demons, come out with her new CD and have a comeback. Sadly, that will never happen now. At least we have the music she recorded during her short time here which we will always have with us. RIP Amy Winehouse <3

i'd always listen to her music when i was incredibly high yet feeling so fucking low. i couldn't live without her music. i wanted her to make it through all this. she inspired me tremendously, and because of her death i will work harder on my music.
to all the gals out there... wear your beehives for support of Amy!!!!
